Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

The city of New Haven was a peaceful one. It was filled with superpowered humans in all shapes and sizes.

The civilians lived in harmony with each other. Well, mostly. If you don't count the villain attacks that occur almost everyday in different areas.

However, when events like that do occur, it was the job of the SPOs to take them down. This stands for Superpowered Officers.

As I feel the wind in my hair and the mild heat of the sun's rays shining down on me, I look below and gaze upon the serenity of the city. It was heartwarming.

"Hey, don't get distracted." said a female voice up ahead of me. "You may be strong on land, but in the sky, it's a different story."

I looked back up ahead of me, my eyes landing on a woman with long orange, flowing hair. Her violet eyes taking in her surroundings effortlessly.

"Yeah, my bad." I replied, trying to keep pace with her while knowing full well she could go way faster.

With a wave of my hand and a flicker of yellow in my eyes, I sped up my speed. The wind pushed against me further, but refusing to give up, I made myself go faster.

I continued to speed up until I was neck in neck with the woman, causing her to glance at me with her usual serious gaze.

"That's better…" she informed me. She then sped up a little more to where she was ahead of me once again. Except, this time she turned herself around in mid air to face me as she flew backward in front of me.

"Tch, show off." I mumbled as I tried to focus on my own well being. "Call it what you will. Now do me a favor and straighten up your posture. You won't get any better if you keep flailing like that." she advised.

I tried to listen and straighten up my posture as I flew, but it was pretty difficult to say the least. "Cut me some slack, I dont have the literal power to fly like you do." I complained.

She sighed and gave me an unimpressed look. "Let's call it a day then." she said casually and began to lower herself, landing on the sidewalk. I, too, tried to land as well.

Hence 'tried', because I immediately began to lose control and started falling head first.
