Issei lay on the ground, panting like a dying animal, utterly exhausted from the brutal training I had just put him through. I, on the other hand, barely broke a sweat.
As I pulled out a familiar capsule, Koneko's sharp eyes immediately noticed it. She tilted her head slightly, her ears twitching.
"Shiro, are those…?" she asked, eyeing the capsules in my hand.
I smirked. "Yep."
Then, turning to the rest of the group, I clapped my hands together. "Alright, everyone , wanna see a magic trick?"
Rias raised an eyebrow. "You do realize we all use magic, right?"
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Just humor me for a second, Princess."
Stepping a few feet away, I found an open space and held up the capsule. With a grin, I pressed the button and tossed it into the air.
The moment it hit the ground, a massive explosion of smoke erupted, covering the entire area. The suddenness of it made even Kiba flinch, and Issei scrambled backward, coughing.
As the smoke cleared, the entire group's eyes widened in shock.
Standing before them were my three workshops, fully materialized—the blacksmith's forge, the alchemist lab, and the jeweler's station, all connected like a mini-industrial complex.
The air still crackled with residual magic as the structures settled into place.
I turned back to look at everyone , my grin widening as I took in their stunned expressions.
"What's wrong?" I asked, feigning innocence.
Koneko, arms crossed, glared at me with an exasperated expression. "You're an ass."
I laughed. "Guilty as charged."
….
The dim glow of the barrier-warded forge flickered against the polished steel of the twin swords that rested before me. Sweat beaded down my forehead as I finally completed them—the two ultimate weapons, forged from both holiness and corruption.
I stepped back, taking in their forms, their overwhelming auras radiating power.
[Holy Avenger
Class: LEGENDARY
Effect: Deals 1000% more damage to devils and absorbs their life force to heal the user.]
A magnificent blade of divine radiance. The golden aura surrounding it pulsed with a quiet hum, as if it recognized the righteousness imbued within it.
[Corrupted Rose
Class: LEGENDARY
Effect: Deals 1000% more damage to angels and absorbs their life force to heal the user.]
A wickedly beautiful sword, its crimson glow swirling like a vengeful spirit around the blade. It held an eerie elegance, the power of darkness refined into its most lethal form.
I ran a hand over Corrupted Rose, feeling the warmth of its sinister energy, its crimson light pulsing as if breathing in sync with me. Strangely, the sword's energy settled when I held it, as if it recognized its creator.
I smirked. "That's right… you belong to me."
Satisfied, I stored it away in my inventory before turning my attention to Holy Avenger. Its divine glow radiated a sense of purity, yet there was something even more remarkable about it—it was a blade not just of holiness, but of retribution.
A chuckle rumbled from my shoulder.
"They're incredible," Voltaris said, his voice filled with genuine admiration.
I glanced at him, surprised. He was rarely this impressed.
"I've seen countless weapons in my time," he continued, "but these… These surpass even the fabled Excalibur. No, not just surpass—they make it look like a child's toy."
My eyes widened slightly at that. "You're saying these are ten times stronger than Excalibur?"
Voltaris nodded. "At least. I've never seen a blade carry such concentrated energy while maintaining stability. If you wield these correctly… you might just become one of the most powerful warriors this world has ever seen."
I exhaled slowly, staring at the swords with newfound realization. This wasn't just blacksmithing.
I had created legends.
Voltaris smirked. "I'm proud to call you my partner."
I paused. That… actually meant a lot, coming from him.
"Thanks, Voltaris. That means more than you know."
He nodded, then tilted his head. "I understand why you named the Holy Sword Holy Avenger, but what about the demonic one? Corrupted Rose—that's an interesting name."
I ran my fingers along the black and crimson hilt, smiling slightly. "To be demonic is to be corrupted, right?"
Voltaris hummed in agreement. "That's true."
I held the sword up to the dim light. "But this blade isn't just about corruption—it's about beauty too. Corruption is alluring, tempting, even mesmerizing in its own way… just like a rose. Beautiful, yet filled with thorns."
Voltaris chuckled. "Poetic."
I sheathed the blade with a final glance at my work, feeling the weight of what I had just accomplished.
Two swords. One holy. One corrupt.
….
Voltaris sat on my shoulder, listening intently as I went over my plans. His golden eyes gleamed with intrigue as I laid everything out.
"So, you plan on showing off the swords at the party?" Voltaris asked, his voice tinged with amusement.
I nodded. "Yeah. It'll make a statement."
Voltaris huffed. "You realize that will put a target on your back, right?"
I smirked. "Of course. But this is devil territory. Anyone foolish enough to attack me or my house would have to deal with Rias, her peerage, and most importantly, her brother."
That alone should be enough to deter most threats. Sirzechs Lucifer wasn't someone even the strongest beings wanted to mess with.
Voltaris hummed in approval but didn't seem entirely convinced. "And what about your house? If someone were to try something while you're gone?"
I chuckled. "I've accounted for that."
I turned toward the open workshop, gesturing vaguely at the layers upon layers of traps, seals, and explosive mines I had painstakingly set up.
"Anyone with hostile intent toward the people living inside this house is not leaving in one piece."
Voltaris let out a low whistle. "You really thought this through."
I exhaled, my gaze hardening. "I have to. The moment I reveal these swords, people will want them. I won't sell them to just anyone. Only those I trust will get their hands on a weapon of this caliber."
Voltaris tilted his head. "Like who?"
I smirked. "For starters… Issei."
Voltaris groaned. "Ugh, the Red Dragon Emperor? But why him?"
I chuckled. "Because he's changing. I've been chipping away at his perverted ways little by little. Just the other day, his perverted friends asked if he wanted to watch a porno, and you know what he said?"
Voltaris raised a brow. "What?"
I grinned. "He said no."
Voltaris blinked in shock. "Huh. Never thought I'd see the day."
"Exactly. He's growing. And let's be real—he's a prime target in rating games. People are going to come after him because of what he is. If I can equip him with something that will keep him alive, then it's worth it."
Voltaris nodded. "I see your reasoning… but what about Kiba? That guy has a deep hatred for Holy Swords."
I sighed. "That's the thing. Kiba thinks holy swords are evil because of what happened to him. But they aren't. They're just tools. It's the wielder that determines whether it's a weapon of protection or destruction."
Voltaris smirked. "That's deep."
I smirked back. "I have my moments."
….
Voltaris leaned back. "So why did you let Rias take charge of the training today? I thought you were going to handle it."
I exhaled through my nose. "I wanted to see what she'd do."
Voltaris frowned. "And?"
I sighed. "I'm disappointed."
Voltaris chuckled. "You sound like a strict teacher."
I crossed my arms. "She didn't train herself at all. She focused only on improving her peerage, but she didn't take any time to strengthen herself. The only positive is that she's been reading strategy books, so I'll let it slide this time."
Voltaris smirked. "And the 'training gear' you made?"
I grinned. "Ah yes, my masterpiece."
I pulled out a set of bracelets, each one weighing 500 pounds. Voltaris' eyes widened.
"You're really putting those on Koneko?"
I nodded. "Two for her arms, two for her legs. She's already strong, but this will help her explode in power."
I then pulled out a massive training sword, also 500 pounds, designed specifically for Kiba.
"Kiba gets this."
Voltaris chuckled. "That'll slow him down for sure."
I grinned. "Exactly. He needs to build endurance and control his movements better."
I then pulled out a set of rings.
"Akeno, Rias, and Asia each get one of these. They'll conserve magical power, letting them last longer in fights."
Voltaris whistled again. "You're going all out."
I nodded. "Asia's training with Alucard. She needs to build durability so she doesn't pass out from one hit. Rias will go through endurance training, while Akeno needs to work on her speed."
Voltaris grinned. "And when does the real hell begin?"
I smirked. "On the third day."
Voltaris laughed darkly. "Oh, they're in for a world of pain."
I grinned wider. "Damn right."
