Malachi Gerard gazed down at the lifeless body of the vampire, his eyes narrowing in anger and concern. He was one of their own, a member of one of New York's vampire covens; "The Carpathian Circle." And yet he had been left to rot in this alleyway.
Vivian, a sexy vampire with long, curly hair, spoke up from beside him. "What do you think happened to him, Lord Malachi?" She asked, her voice laid with worry.
Malachi's eyes flicked to the four tarot cards arranged on the vampire's chest. "I don't know." He said. "But, I think these cards might hold a clue. The mission assigned to him was to have fun with that mortal woman. She must have been saved by someone or a group of people. I'm quite curious about the meaning of this message left behind."
Dean, a burly vampire with a thick beard, spoke up from the other side of Malachi. "What's so special about this human that you want her to be mounted by one of our kind, Lord Malachi? And if it was that important, why not just do it yourself?"
Malachi shook his head. "You won't understand, forget it. I really want to know who ruined our plan. Vivian, check around and see if there are any hidden CCTV'S. We might be lucky enough to find one and see what really happened."
Vivian nodded, her eyes sparkling with determination. "Dean, check the surrounding buildings, see if you can find any clue that might have been missed. I'll check the alleyway itself, see if I can find any hidden cameras."
Dean nodded, his thick beard bobbing up and down. "Got it, I'll check every inch of every surrounding building."
Malachi's eyes were focused on Dean. "And, Dean, be discreet. We don't want to draw any unnecessary attention to ourselves." In response, Dean and Vivian set off to begin their investigation, leaving Malachi to stand guard over the lifeless body of their comrade. Malachi's eyes narrowed as he gazed down at the body, his mind racing with questions.
Vivian's eyes scanned the alleyway, her gaze sweeping over the trash cans, dumpsters, and crumbling brick walls. As she turned around a corner, she spotted a small, discreet camera mounted on the wall. It was a CCTV camera, and it looked like it had been installed recently.
Vivian examined it closely, looking for any signs of ownership or identification. And then, she saw it. A small label on the camera's housing, with a company name and address printed on it. Her eyes widened as she read the label. "Nova Guard Security Solutions." It was said. "123 Main St, New York."
She committed the address to memory, her mind racing with possibilities. This could be the break they needed to find who killed one of their kind. The address was closer to the alleyway.
Vivian hurried back to Malachi, who was still standing guard over the lifeless body. "I found something." She said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Malachi's voice rang out. "What is it, Vivian? Did you find something?"
Vivian answered without hesitating. "A CCTV camera. And I found a label on it with a company name and address."
Malachi's expression turned intrigued. "What's the company name? It seems like this alleyway is a high-crime area and the local authorities or business owners have installed CCTV cameras as a deterrent."
"Nova Guard Security Solutions." Vivian replied, "And the address is 123 Main St."
Malachi's eyes widened. "That's just a few blocks from here. This could be our lead."
Just then, Dean appeared at the end of the alleyway. "Lord Malachi, I've finished checking the area. I didn't find anything else suspicious."
Malachi nodded. "Good work, Dean. Now, I want you to return his body to the base. We'll take care of the rest."
Dean nodded and carefully lifted the lifeless body, disappearing into the night. Just as he sped away, Malachi's gaze fell on a bloodstained handkerchief hiding amongst the trash cans. He walked over and picked it up. "This is another clue, which we almost missed."
Malachi turned to Vivian. "Let's go check out this Nova Guard Security Solutions. Stay close and keep your wits about you."
Vivian nodded, and they set off into the night, their senses on high alert as they made their way to the address. As they arrived at 123 Main St, Vivian and Malachi were welcomed by a nonedescript office building. The structure was a dull gray color, with tinted windows that reflected the dim light of the street lamps. A small sign hung above the entrance read "Nova Guard Security Solutions" in bold letters.
Vivian's eyes scanned the building's facade, searching for any signs of security cameras or alarms. Malachi, meanwhile, was focused on the entrance, his eyes fixed intently on the door.
"Let's go." He said, his voice low and even.
Vivian nodded, and together they approached the entrance. The door was locked, but Malachi produced a set of lockpicks from his pocket and quickly worked the machanism. The door swung open, revealing a dimly lit lobby.
The lobby was small, with a single reception desk at the far end. A security guard sat behind the desk, his eyes fixed on a bank of monitors displaying feeds from various security cameras.
Malachi's eyes locked onto the guard, and he began to walk towards him. Vivian followed close behind, her senses on high alert.
As they approached the desk, the guard looked up, his eyes narrowing suspiciously. "Can I help you?" He growled, "And, how did you even get in?"
Malachi smiled, his eyes glinting with a hypnotic intensity. A supernatural mental force attacked the guard's mind. "We're here to review some security footage. An incident occurred last night, in the alleyway off Main St, that's what we're here to investigate." He said.
The guard's eyes began to glaze over, his expression slackening. "Okay." He said, his voice barely above a whisper, "Let me just check the system."
Malachi's eyes never left the guard's face, his mind compelling him to do his bidding. Vivian watched in envy as the guard's fingers flew across the keyboard, accessing the security system with ease.
Finally, the guard leaned back in his chair, his eyes still glassy. "The footage you're looking for is on camera 17." He said, his voice flat, "It's from last night, around 11am."
Malachi nodded, his eyes never leaving the guard's face. "Thank you." He said, his voice dripping with sincerity, "You've been very helpful."
The guard nodded, still under Malachi's mind control. Vivian watched as Malachi carefully extracted the relevant footage from the system, his fingers flying across the keyboard.
Finally, they had what they came for. Malachi turned to Vivian, a small smile playing on his lips. "Let's go." He said, his voice low and even, "We have a lead to follow."
As they left the building, Malachi and Vivian made their way back to their base, a grand, centuries-old mansion located on the outskirts of the city. The mansion was home to their vampire coven, and it was a place of safety and refuge for them.
As they approached the mansion, they were greeted by several other vampires who were lounging in their courtyard. The vampires nodded in respect as Malachi and Vivian passed by, their eyes gleaming with curiosity in the dim light.
Malachi led Vivian to his room, a spacious, elegantly decorated chamber on the second floor of the mansion. The room was filled with comfortable, antique furniture, and the walls were adorned with ancient tapestries and paintings.
As soon as they walked into the room, Malachi closed the door behind them and walked over to a large, wooden desk located in the center of the room. He sat down in the chair behind the huge mahogany desk and motioned for Vivian to join him.
Vivian walked over to the desk and sat down in a chair beside Malachi. He inserted a small, sleek device into the computer on his desk, and a few moments later, the footage from the CCTV camera appeared on the screen.
As they watched the footage, they saw the vampire attacking a gorgeous woman. She had shoulder length blonde hair and emerald eyes. Her figure was accentuated, almost igniting a lustful desire in Malachi's heart, but as he thought about the secrets surrounding her identity, the desire was dispelled. The gorgeous woman shot the vampire thrice, a show of struggle before she was finally captured.
Just when they both thought more scenes would be revealed, they saw a strange, fog-like mist envelop the entire scene.
Vivian's eyes widened in confusion. "What's going on?" She asked, her voice equipped with frustration. "Why can't we see anything?"
Malachi's expression was equally perplexed. "I don't know." He said, "But it looks like someone or something is trying to conceal the truth."
As they continued to watch, they saw a faint outline of a man emerge from the fog. He was clad in a plain black suit, and a black fedora hat rested atop his head of wild white locks. The image was indistinct, but there was something unmistakable about the man's presence. Suddenly, the man shjfted his gaze towards the hidden CCTV camera, solidifying the hint that he was aware about the camera's presence. The duo gazed deep into those eyes and they were scared, it was more like they were sinking into the deep abyss of death.
Vivian's eyes widened in surprise. "Who is that?" She asked, her voice filled with trepidation.
Malachi's expression was grim. "I don't know." He said, "But I think we found the killer of Vamos."
As they continued to watch, the faint outline of the mysterious man vanished, they heard sounds of the vampire being hurled against the wall, and the sickening rip of his heart being torn. But despite the vivid sounds, they couldn't hear any conversation. It was as if the audio had been deliberately muted, leaving them with only the faint outline of the mysterious man and the eerie, fog-shrouded surroundings.
