Ronan's thoughts were cut short by a sharp knock at the door. He froze, gripping the cube tightly before quickly slipping it into his space pouch. Blaky jumped off his lap, stretching lazily as if nothing unusual had happened.
"Ron!" came Aurelia's familiar voice from the other side of the door. "Get out here! It's dinner time!"
Ronan sighed, rubbing his temples. "Yeah, yeah. I'm coming." He glanced at Blaky one last time. The cat tilted its head, its intelligent eyes gleaming as it let out a soft meow.
Shaking his head, Ronan muttered, "You're more different than a normal cat should be."
He headed downstairs to the lively tavern of the inn. The warm glow of candlelight lit up wooden tables and floors. The smell of roasted meat and fresh bread filled the air, mixing with the sound of laughter and clinking mugs.
