Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Am I the Third Person?

"Ms. Anderson? Did you hear me?" Carlo once again looked at Eve, the CEO then frowned.

"Sorry, I wasn't focused enough." Eve immediately realized, she returned to reality. Carlo's words made her weak instantly.

"Okay, I repeat. Read all these rules, I have taken care of all our marriage papers. Today I scheduled a wedding dress fitting, as well as wedding photos." Carlo was still looking at Eve, in case she was daydreaming and not focusing anymore.

"You should agree, because an unemployed person like you must have plenty of time," Carlo continued, quickly standing up and putting his expensive-looking suit back on.

Eve was even more shocked by the CEO's behavior, as if he was the most powerful. "But he is indeed powerful, almost all werewolf nations in this world are powerful. Ordinary humans like me can't demand much," Eve thought. She didn't protest much, but her hands were still trembling. Because the wedding was only counting the days, and she would officially be married to Carlo even though it was only a contract marriage.

"How long are you going to stand there?" scolded Carlo, who saw Eve just standing there like a statue.

"I'm just confused, isn't it too soon?" Eve said with a nervous intonation, perhaps even obvious on her face.

"Fast? Isn't faster better? You can also pay off all your debts quickly, right?" Carlo's statement actually made Eve realize.

The girl exhaled heavily, then she nodded in agreement with the decision made unilaterally by the CEO.

"Ah, I almost forgot. After the dress fitting and bridal photos, we will visit my parents. I hope you'll be able to read and remember everything I wrote down." Carlo pointed to the white paper that contained notes while at his parents' house. Eve again just nodded, she didn't mind if it was just a matter of memorizing.

During the trip to the wedding dress fitting place, Eve just kept quiet. Maybe once in a while she cleared her throat and read the notes Carlo gave her. The girl exhaled heavily, "It looks like it won't be easy. I'm sure Carlo's parents won't agree to our marriage. Especially knowing that we're only contract marriages. From what I've read, it seems like Mr. Carlo is trying to resist being set up as an arranged marriage."

Talking about arranged marriages, Eve suddenly remembered Lucy, who had not been heard from until now. Eve checked her cell phone again, but Lucy's name was not listed there. Eve unconsciously bit her lip, indicating that she was worried about Lucy's condition.

"Oh my God. I hope Lucy is okay. She should be fine, even if she doesn't marry the man of her dreams, she still has unlimited wealth." Eve leaned her body against the car seat, she looked at the car driving in front of the car she was riding in.

"It turns out that the werewolf nation is cruel and heartless," Eve muttered looking at the car with Carlo in it, and they were in different cars.

Arriving at the wedding dress fitting place, without wasting time Carlo rushed down from his car. Likewise, Eve immediately followed behind Carlo. At first glance, they looked like a boss and an employee. But they were actually husband and wife.

"Welcome, Mr. Carlo. We've prepared all the dresses you want." A woman wearing a sign that read manager warmly welcomed them.

"Is the bride here yet?" she continued in a cheerful tone, her smile broadening.

"She's my bride-to-be," Carlo pointed at Eve, who was standing some distance behind Carlo. All the eyes of the boutique employees looked Eve up and down. It was as if they wanted to re-question the truth. Eve smiled awkwardly, she knew herself well enough. Because if you look at it, she doesn't deserve to be with the CEO.

"Ah, of course. We will guide the bride to try on the wedding dress," the manager said later.

Before trying on the wedding dress, they polished Eve's face with light makeup. Then they put on the best wedding dress they had. All eyes looked at Eve in amazement, even Carlo was a bit stunned when he saw Eve wearing a wedding dress. Her elegant face matched the luxurious dress.

"Okay. I'll take this one," Carlo said without bothering to choose another wedding dress.

Before long, they were also finishing the wedding photo session quickly. Eve just followed orders, throughout the agenda she just kept quiet without saying much let alone protesting.

Now they were traveling again to Carlo's extended family's house, Eve was a bit nervous. She had never been in a position like this before. "According to the notes, as long as I follow them everything will go well." Eve reassured herself. Then hurried into the car. This time in the same car as Carlo."It's been a long trip, you can take a break," Carlo said without looking at Eve. Instead, he was busy with his laptop.

Eve just nodded. "He didn't even glance at me," Eve felt offended. But for the sake of a lot of money, she was willing to suppress her emotions.

Along the way, Eve didn't rest. Instead, she was mesmerized by the winding roads that were far from the bustling city and the towering trees that made Eve even more amazed. "I bet Carlo's parents' house is up in the hills," Eve thought. She unconsciously gulped down her saliva, admiring every inch of the beautiful road she passed.

Carlo frowned, looking astonished at Eve who looked like a child being taken for a walk by her parents. "What a freak." Carlo shook his head lightly, then refocused on his work.

They arrived at Carlo's parents' house, the first thing Eve saw was a huge wolf statue. Eve even looked up to see the head of the statue. Before she could admire the splendor of Carlo's parents' house, the CEO first pulled Eve's hand to immediately enter. This made Eve realize, and she began to recall the note given by Carlo.

"I'm coming. This is my bride-to-be," Carlo said matter-of-factly. They were greeted by a man and a woman.

"You! Where are your manners as a child?!" the man said with a fierce look. Then turned to stare at Eve sharply.

"I refuse your marriage! Whether you like it or not, you have to marry Lucy," continued the man sitting haughtily on the sofa.

"Lucy?" Eve suddenly interrupted the conversation. All eyes looked at her, even Carlo touched Eve's hand. Signaling her not to talk too much.

"Of course Lucy, from the werewolf nation. Not like you who are just ordinary humans," sneered the woman next to her, who was none other than Carlo's mother.

"Lucy, my best friend? How can that be?" Eve could no longer control her speech. She held her head, which was throbbing. Again all eyes looked at her in surprise.

"What's wrong with you, remember the note I gave you," Carlo whispered quickly in Eve's ear.

"Yes, I'm Lucy your best friend. Mr. Carlo's real bride-to-be." Lucy suddenly appeared from behind the door. Her face was the same as always, making Eve flinch in surprise.

"Lucy? Why didn't you reply to my message? So he's the jerk who dumped you?" Eve exclaimed and moved closer to Lucy, forgetting that she was pretending to be Carlo's future wife.

"Get out of my way! You don't deserve to be called a friend. You are the third person in my relationship with Mr. Carlo!" Lucy did not hesitate to push Eve hard. Luckily Carlo caught Eve immediately, otherwise her body would have hit the wall of the house.
