Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Not Daring to be Honest

Eve looked around the room she was in. The man in front of her, who was none other than Carlo, was sitting with his back against the sofa. His gaze was focused on Eve, his arms crossed over his chest. Those piercing eyes seemed to want to swallow Eve whole. His right leg rested on top of his left leg, giving the impression that he was a big boss.

Eve once again swallowed her saliva quickly. Carlo's embrace, and the smell of his body are still clearly imprinted in Eve's mind. "Come on, Eve. Don't let Carlo's poison enter your brain," she said to herself. She also secretly looked at Carlo who was still staring at her.

"Do you have anything to say? If not, I'll leave now" Eve scratched her hand that was not itchy. It's just that the situation feels awkward and tense between them.

"What about the continuation of our marriage contract?" Carlo's voice sounded firm and cold. Just like his face now, it looked stiff.

Eve was silent, she just imagined Lucy's face. The feeling of guilt still pierced her solar plexus. It is undeniable, but Eve also feels annoyed and angry because of Lucy's actions, which have turned into a snake in Eve's life.

"Of course, continue. Why not?" Eve said confidently. Her face clearly held resentment and anger, Carlo could see it clearly.

Carlo smiled sarcastically, he could read Eve's beautiful face. "You finally got your memory back, didn't you?" Changing his sitting position, Carlo now leaned his body, playing his hands like a war strategist.

Eve looked up at Carlo, but in her beady eyes was clearly empty. He didn't really look at Carlo, but rather looked at the events that had passed.

"Was my decision right." Eve once again asked herself. She needed to convince her heart that her decision was right.

Across from Eve, Carlo frowned. He was still waiting for an answer from Eve's tiny mouth. He waited for Eve's fragrant lips to move to say something.

"Yes, I got my memories. I remember everything Lucy did, I remember it clearly." Eve's voice sounded shaky, she was obviously sad to admit it in front of Carlo. But it was all a fact, Eve couldn't deny it. The Anderson family's pride had been played for a long time by Lucy, her best friend.

Eve's hands clenched into fists, she gripped the sofa she was sitting on tightly. She hated herself for doubting her decision to take revenge on Lucy. Her memory returned where Eve was not suspicious of Lucy at all, she actually considered Lucy as her own sister.

"In that case, you agree to continue our marriage contract?" Carlo cleared his throat briefly, while focusing on Eve's face. While Eve immediately nodded without hesitation.

"Ah, I don't think you have any regrets. But being betrayed by your best friend is painful," he continued. She then stood up. Her tall body towered over Eve. Her big steps made Eve flinch.

"I'll be leaving soon." Eve quickly stood up, before Carlo could catch her and make her heart skip a beat.

Carlo stopped, "Of course, please." Made a gesture with his hand, allowing Eve to leave his house.

Wasting no time, Eve quickly stepped away from Carlo. She hurriedly headed for the exit, while grumbling that Carlo's house was so big but so quiet.

"Damn! It's useless to have a big house, but he's the only occupant." Eve was still grumbling about Carlo and his house.

"People like Carlo are so stingy. I wasn't even offered food or drink," she continued, holding her stomach, which was rumbling with hunger.

Eve's energy seemed to be drained, her sweat began to flood even though she had only taken a few steps away from Carlo's house. Her stomach was sore and her solar plexus hurt like hell. Eve saw a big tree, she decided to take shelter under it.

"It looks like this is still the area of Carlo's house." Eve looked to her side and there was still a sturdy fence standing tall. Sure enough, it was indeed still Carlo's house area and Eve was outside of it.

Her stomach felt more and more painful, occasionally she was nauseated uncontrollably. Her vision blurred, Eve couldn't force herself to keep walking. She was clearly aware that she was dehydrated and hungry. But she didn't dare to ask Carlo for food beforehand, she was too embarrassed to be honest.

"It looks like I'm going to starve to death." Now Eve's body was sitting leaning against a tree. Her gaze was faint, her lips were pale and her eyes were deeply sunken. She was no more like a vampire in broad daylight, but Eve was just an ordinary human who was enduring hunger. Her throat was so dry, even clearing her throat was hard. She was acutely dehydrated, Eve could feel it.

"Damn it! I can't die now. I still have to take revenge on the people who were so evil in my life. First of all is Lucy, she is the most evil person in this world!" With little energy, Eve growled. She was about to try the thorns, her hands had already gripped the tree beside her tightly. Her feet tremblingly rested on the ground.

"I beg you, God. Don't take my life now. I still have revenge to take, I can't die silly from hunger. Help me...." Eve once again asked for strength. But her body just felt weaker and weaker. Her energy was almost exhausted, her body fell back under the big tree. She was breathing heavily, her chest suddenly felt like it was crushed by a large rock. It was very difficult to breathe, but Eve still tried to focus her gaze even though it was a little blurry.

"I'm at the end of the line." Eve really hoped that at the last moment of her life, someone would pass by and be kind enough to help her. But it seemed very unlikely, because the area still belonged to Carlo. It was very unlikely that people would randomly pass by the area. Realizing this fact, Eve closed her eyes. She truly surrendered to God's fate. Secretly in her heart she prayed to be revived into a strong and wealthy human being.

"There she is! The girl is over there." A male voice, shouted from a distance and Eve could still hear it clearly. Although now her eyes could no longer open, but a glimmer of hope appeared to stay alive.

Eve smiled happily in her heart, she hoped that the person would help her and immediately give her something to drink and eat. There was only one problem, Eve was very thirsty and hungry. She was too afraid to ask Carlo.

"Eve!" The voice was getting closer. Eve could faintly hear that it could be Carlo's voice. But Eve was again pessimistic, there was no way Carlo would help her.
