"The Lieutenant ditch us."
"How do you know that?", .A. asked innocently.
Lucy felt lazy to explain and without further ado, she pulled out her phone and sent the message to everyone.
"So? He's dead?", Ampofo asked. He wasn't sure if the man was dead or not.
"I believe so but we can mourn him later. Please proceed."
Ampofo had just managed to attain even a sliver of information about the spider emblem.
"The emblem was used by a group of protesters in the past. They were more of a terrorist-level threat group against the elections held about seven years ago. Their leader was arrested but the threat died down so there was no reason to dive in further.", Ampofo explained.
"So right now, .B. needs to continue tracking while the rest of us prepare for departure."
"Wait, we're going head-on. We are five against thousands. Shouldn't we tell the Government or something.", Melanie questioned now that she was looking at the odds.
"Nope, leave the government out of it. They will manage to screw things over. They'll probably make it a political issue."
"I agree and we're six by the way", a very unfamiliar voice seemed to agree with Lucy.
By then, the rest had left the room leaving only the duo. The two hastily turned around keeping the newcomer at gunpoint but he didn't seem troublesome. He looked troubled himself; he had dirty hair and pants, a disheveled crop top and a bloodied arm covered with fabric from his shirt, now a crop top.
He pointed to Lucy, "You must be Lucy. I have....."
He couldn't finish his sentence. He was knocked out from behind by Ampofo. He came back for his cable.
"What should we do with him?", Ampofo asked his leader.
"Tie him up, I've had enough people to deal with."
