The place was in ruins. Smoke enveloped the area, mixing with the stench from the already rotting matyrs. The blood on the trees told a woeful story to passers-by and the ground felt soiled. Scavenger birds congregated in the sky waiting for clearance before their feast. The bodies had turned black, preparing to go back to the ground from whence they came.
Darko was frozen in fear and melting with shock. The scene was simply morbid and choking. He walked around spying for survivors then he found the Commander's tent. The floor was bloodied and footsteps of mauve lad away from a pool of blood. He followed the ominous trail and found the Commander bleeding away on a chair.
Life was slowly draining out of him. His face was pale and his facsimile has just sent a message.
"Have you come to finish the job?", the Commander whispered when he saw the arm-bloodied man in a crop top.
"No, sir.", Darko said with pity, having recognized the man he was speaking to, "I found out the hidden agenda while on the mission but rest assured peace is still in sight."
He immediately regretted his choice of words but it didn't really matter to the dying man.
"Young man, your allegiance will be rewarded.", his volume started to decrease with every spoken word.
"I will avenge you, sir."
The old man coughed as a result of a failed laughter, "Revenge is all vanity. You'll regret it later just like me. I wish I had outed Roy earlier."
"Who again?", Darko asked as the man spoke fast out of desperation.
It was a bitter memory and Commander Gray didn't want to relive it.
"Lucy will give you the details later. Find her and take this."
He handed Darko some kind of pendant. The ones that merged with it's other half.
"I won't get there in time."
"Don't worry about that.", he said while managing to point a wooden box.
Darko understood immediately and rushed over to open the oversized box. Inside it was a sleek looking motorcycle. It was black with royal purple outlines. It's design was futuristic and seemed like one of its kind.
The Commander motioned and Darko brought it out. He pushed a button at the dying man's command to start the motorcycle and it started to speak.
"Hi, my name is Lu.C.A. Lucy Centered Algorithm. How can I help you?"
The Commander spoke as loudly as possible even though he was still fading away, "Route to Lucy."
"Navigation successful. Lucy's tracker signal is prominent in Gaja, precisely in Barracks Number 06 inside the I.T centre. Showing route to Lucy."
On its screen, a red trail appeared supposedly leading to Lucy. Darko turned to talk to the Commander but he was long gone. He was late but even so, he knew what to do.
