*New Character*
Brody's power is lightning, which turns his movements into flashes of light, allowing him to move with incredible speed. He can also shape his lightning into a weapon that paralyzes his enemies, making him a truly unstoppable force.
Elyas and Alaric were making their way through the guild. They stopped several passersby, asking where they might find Brody. Finally, a man approached them, introducing himself as Angelo.
Elyas nodded but asked, "What does he look like? How will we recognize him?"
Angelo chuckled and replied, "He's tall, has dark skin, and keeps his hair tied back. You can't miss him."
"Thank you for your help," Elyas said with a slight bow of gratitude.
With clear directions, Elyas and Alaric set off toward the training field. The hallways of the guild grew quieter as they moved away from the main area, and soon, the faint sound of clashing weapons and shouts echoed in the distance. Their excitement and anticipation grew as they neared their destination, ready to meet the one who might hold the key to their journey.
After entering the training field, Elyas and Alaric searched for Brody. It didn't take long before they spotted a tall, dark-skinned man practicing with impressive speed. They watched in awe as Brody moved swiftly, slashing through all the decoys effortlessly, as if it were nothing. His skill and agility left them speechless.
Once Brody finished his set, Elyas and Alaric made their way toward him. "Are you Brody?" Elyas asked, his voice filled with curiosity.
Brody paused, wiping the sweat from his brow, and nodded. "Yes."
As Alaric looked at Brody, a sudden realization hit him. This was the same man he had bumped into earlier, outside the master's office. He couldn't help but feel uneasy about their brief encounter.
"Brody," Alaric began, "Why did you ignore me when we met earlier? Was there a reason for that?
"I apologize for my actions, but you ignore me!."
Brody shot a brief glance at Alaric, but remained silent, his attention elsewhere as he ignored him once again.
After that, Alaric suddenly grabbed Brody's shirt, his anger flaring because he had been ignored earlier. Elyas quickly stepped in, trying to calm Alaric. "Let it go," he urged, his voice steady. But Alaric wasn't ready to let go just yet.
With a swift motion, Brody grabbed Alaric's wrist and forcefully swung his hand off his shirt, stepping back with a cold stare. Elyas immediately stepped forward and apologized. "I'm sorry for his behavior," he said, hoping to ease the tension.
Brody looked at them both, his expression unreadable. "What do you want?" he asked, his tone neutral but firm.
Elyas took a deep breath before speaking. "The master told us you'll be teaming up with us for a mission in Jeju Island. We've come to find you. The task is to get rid of a dangerous beast called Balarok." He then explained the details of the mission, outlining the danger the beast posed and why they approach to Brody's.
Brody's eyes narrowed as he listened, but when Elyas finished, Brody simply shook his head. "I refuse," he said flatly, his voice cold. Without another word, he grabbed his jacket and walked away, leaving the two of them standing there, unsure of what to do next.
After that, Elyas and Alaric had no choice but to let Brody go. Elyas turned to Alaric and said, "Wait for me at the guild bar. I'll go talk to the master." Alaric nodded in agreement, though he was still puzzled by Brody's refusal.
"Where will you go?" Alaric asked, looking at Elyas with curiosity.
Elyas glanced back at him and replied, "I'll head to the master's office again. We need to figure this out."
With that, Elyas quickly left, heading towards the master's office. Alaric stood still for a moment, watching Elyas disappear down the hallway. He then looked around the training field, his mind racing with thoughts of what had just happened. Instead of heading straight to the guild bar as instructed, Alaric found himself lingering. He wasn't sure why, but something about the training field called to him.
He walked around, scanning the area, lost in his thoughts. His mind drifted to Brody—what was his story? Why had he refused to help? Alaric couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Brody than met the eye. He knew he had to focus on the mission, but for the moment, he stayed where he was, trying to make sense of it all.
Alaric suddenly had an idea of what to do in the training field. He decided to practice his body movements and magic, trying to mimic what Brody had done with the decoys earlier. Alaric focused on perfecting his speed and precision, pushing himself harder with each attempt.
Meanwhile, Elyas was in the master's office, explaining the situation. The master looked at him with concern and asked, "What's the problem, Elyas?"
Elyas sighed, frustrated. "Brody refuses to come with us to Jeju. His attitude is… difficult." He paused, trying to find the right words. "I don't know what's going on with him."
The master nodded thoughtfully. "It seems I have no choice but to handle this myself. I'll talk to him."
Elyas thanked the master, relieved that something would finally be done. The master then spoke up again. "He's always been like this—difficult—ever since five years ago. But I'll make sure he joins you for the mission."
Elyas hesitated for a moment before asking, "What about Claire? Can she come with us? She's the healer who helped us during our first quest."
The master raised an eyebrow. "Who's Claire?" he asked, confused.
Elyas explained, "She's the girl who assisted us. She's a healer."
he master shook his head. "No, she can't come. It would put her life in danger."
Elyas felt disappointed but understood. He had no choice but to accept it. The master stood up, ready to leave. "I'll go speak with Brody now," he said, walking out of his office.
