Chapter 14 - The Veil Unraveled: Mission Two Awaits

Elyas finally left the master's office and walked down the hall, heading toward the training field where Alaric was waiting.

The master was looking for Brody, wondering where he might be. His first thought was to check the training field, where Brody often spent his time. However, when he arrived, Brody was nowhere to be found. Instead, the master spotted Alaric practicing his magic. Noticing the master's presence, Alaric immediately stopped what he was doing and bowed respectfully.

After acknowledging Alaric, the master wasted no time and headed straight to Brody's house. He had something important to discuss with him and preferred to handle it personally.

Meanwhile, Elyas returned to the training field, looking for Alaric. He found him there, still practicing. Alaric paused his training and asked Elyas, "Where might the master be going in such a hurry?"

Elyas explained that the master was searching for Brody and after that he said "Alright, I'll be the one to convince him to join your mission" and After that, he left immediately, not wasting any time.

Hearing this, Alaric nodded in understanding. He resumed his practice, his focus sharper now, while Elyas stood by He was amazed by how much Alaric had grown in his magic, especially with his Doom's Cascade, which seemed to have become more powerful than ever.

He looked at Alaric and said, "You've become much stronger since the last time you fought the dragon." Alaric smiled at the compliment, feeling proud of his progress, and continued with his practice. and after that

Stepping inside, the house was dark, so he used his magic to create a light. Slowly, he made his way toward the basement, where he found Brody, deep in concentration.

The master watched Brody in deep concentration, his eyes narrowing as he observed the young warrior's focused meditation. Finally, he broke the silence. "Why did you refuse Elyas' request to join the mission?"

Without opening his eyes, Brody responded confidently, "Why would I need them? I can finish this mission by myself."

The master's expression hardened, his voice sharp as he replied, "You can't."

Brody's eyes snapped open, surprise flashing across his face. He stared at the master, caught off guard by the serious tone. The master sighed, stepping closer to Brody. "That beast is no ordinary foe. When two of my comrades were sent to that island, they didn't come back. Their last words to me were clear — the monster was stronger than Vice Yami himself. It's unlike anything we've faced before."

After hearing the master's words, Brody frowned and replied, "Then why should I team up with them? It could just cause more trouble for me, having to protect them."

The master looked at him with a serious expression. "That young man is no ordinary warrior. He defeated a dragon."

Brody's eyes widened in surprise. "What?" he asked, unable to believe what he had just heard.

The master nodded, repeating, "Yes, he defeated a dragon. His potential is unlike anything I've seen. He has the power to destroy entire lands by himself."

Brody's disbelief grew, but the master wasn't done. "And the one who stands beside him is no fool either. He's incredibly smart, with a mind for strategy. I know his father, a brilliant tactician who created plans capable of destroying enemies with precision."

Brody was silent for a moment, processing the weight of the master's words. "So, you believe they have what it takes?" he finally asked

The master nodded firmly. "Yes. Together, they are more than capable. Your strength alone won't be enough. You need to work with them, or you'll risk facing the enemy unprepared."

After hearing the master's words, Brody reluctantly agreed. "Alright," he said with a sigh, "I'll join them, but only because you said so."

The master smiled, pleased by Brody's decision, though he could see the uncertainty still lingering in his eyes.

The master's smile remained, though he understood Brody's wariness. "That's fair," he replied calmly. "Everyone has to see things for themselves before they believe it."

The master nodded, his expression turning serious. "Just remember, Brody, sometimes the greatest strength isn't immediately obvious. But once you see it, you'll understand why you need them by your side."

Brody didn't respond right away, his mind already racing ahead, wondering what the mission would reveal about these two unexpected allies.

After that, the master called Elyas over and informed him that Brody had agreed to join them. Elyas smiled in response, clearly relieved. "Thank you," he said, grateful for Brody's decision.

The master nodded. "You're welcome," he replied, his voice calm but filled with a sense of approval.

With the decision made, the master turned to the two of them. "Good luck on your mission," he said. "It begins tomorrow, so be ready for whatever comes your way."

As the master spoke those words, a presence entered the room. It was Vice Master Yami, who had been silently observing from the shadows. He stepped forward, his gaze fixed on the master, his expression unreadable.

"I heard the mission is to Jeju Island," Yami said. The master looked at him and replied, "Yes, and what about it?" Yami then asked, "Can I join them on the mission?" The master was taken aback by his unexpected request, clearly shocked.
