"Where is she?" Mider asked, rushing towards Khaos who was running for the door.
"Her general direction is 60 kilometers west of here". Khaos hastily opened the door before turning to Mider "Try to keep up, i can't afford to slow down for you".
As soon as he finished his words, an explosion of highly compressed wind erupted from his lands and feet. Blowing away anything which was close to him, Mider included, who was pushed away by the wind before crashing on a nearby wall.
The windows of the restaurant they just exited broke apart from the shockwave released by Khaos.
Khaos had just unleashed his full power for instant acceleration to take off, then when he was one kilometer in the air, he shot towards the West with his full speed. Another explosion occurred at his passage as he broke through the sound barrier, shaking the buildings of Galor.
Khaos was a stage seven Magic realm Cultivator. He was at the peak of what normal free cultivators could achieve (Non Academics). His Flux sensitivity and control was higher than normal. The wind element was his specialization from birth, and finally, due to the resonance pill, his elemental power was five times stronger than normal.
However, it was not accurate to say his Flux storages were also five times greater because even though all the Flux in his Core was of the wind element at that moment, he did not make that Flux out of nothing. He converted all the other flux in his core, meaning flying full power like that depleted all his elements at the same time.
If other Cultivators had 10 points of Flux for each element, bringing their total to fifty, then Khaos had fifty points of flux which he could change the element of, anytime he wanted. The higher concentration made his abilities stronger, that's it.
It took about a second for Khaos to leave the airspace of Galor city, his body leaving green wisps of energy behind him as his mind only concentrated on reaching Zara before it was too late.
Meanwhile, about a seconds ago, Mider had just been blasted away by Khaos taking off and slamming him against a wall. However since that was not Khaos' intention, Mider was unhurt, just annoyed.
Then, an explosion from above reminded Mider of the urgency of their situation, and he faced the West as lightning built up around his body, starting from his eyes.
Soon his body was bathed in golden lightning and without warning, he shot forward, leaving a trail of sparks in his wake. Mider did not have time to turn, so instead he would directly run up buildings, a perk of his lightning he had just discovered.
Approaching the Galor city protective wall, more lightning gathered in his legs as an explosion of the golden energy propelled him forward and upward at a sixty degree angle. Then another explosion resounded in the surroundings as he also broke the sound barrier.
Landing on the ground, he shot forward will all his power, the ground below him was shattered and was left ablaze as a human shaped conglomeration of lightning passed by with unreal speeds considering he was on the ground.
Mider's situation was exactly like Khaos, minus the fact that Mider could not change his element. However, due to that, he was far better at using lightning than almost all other Cultivators.
Evidence of this could be seen by the fact that no other Cultivator had even thought about infusing lightning internally in one's body, and even if they tried, they would most likely die. Lightning was hard to control outside one's body, much less inside.
Mider was a one of a kind anomaly that maybe could never be seen again on Zylon. He had a disability, but his disability, if mastered, could become a never seen before power. It was like a blind person having far better hearing than normal, and after practice, being able to use a sort of echo location.
At the same time, Khaos was flying high in the sky when he felt a high concentration of Flux behind him. It was the same feeling the got when he was about to be attacked so he glanced behind him out of habit.
Wait is that?..' Behind him on the ground, moving at speeds not inferior to his own was what he could only describe as a lightning bolt. The trail of sparks behind Mider had grown to be fifty meters long, giving the illusion that he really was a lightning bolt.
Mider can turn into lightning!?' Khaos thought. He was tempted to take another look since he could probably replicate that ability, but he could not slow down that that moment.
One must not forget that Mider was one stage below Khaos, but he could still keep up with him. Given the fact that Khaos was using his full power and was flying, what Mider was doing bordered on the realm of impossible, even for Cultivation standards.
After a few more seconds, Khaos suddenly came to an instant halt, using a blast of wind in front of him to do so as he looked around. 'This is the center of the signal source, she should not be more than ten kilometers from me' he thought as he slowly revolved in mid air, looking all around for a sign.
"Come on Zara". Khaos mumbled. It was at this point that Mider arrived below Khaos, and he kept his eyes on the revolving cultivator in the air. Mider knew that if he lost sight of Khaos for even a second, he might lose him.
Sparks of lightning were still present on his legs and especially in his eyes, which currently glowed in a golden hue.
In the air, Khaos held his abdomen in discomfort as he spat out mouthfuls of blood to the ground below. The instant, acceleration, speed and deceleration had damaged some internal organs.
But it was nothing to the body of a cultivator, Khaos could live even if someone ripped out all his organs, as long as the lungs and heart were intact. The only thing a cultivator's body needed to survive was oxygen. The lungs provided it and the heart pumped the blood which transported it.
"Five kilometers North, she is underground!" Khaos shouted before another dual explosion resounded in his surroundings. The first explosion was his wind element propelling him forward, the second one was the sound barrier.
Mider did not wait to be told twice, he shot after Khaos, leaving a line of fire in his wake as the lightning on his feet ignited the vegetation.
"Please be safe". Mider mumbled as Zara's face came into his mind. He had only known her for three weeks, and he already dreaded the day she would have to go back to the Academy.
One week earlier;
"Guys, i have an idea!" Zara said with a large smile on her face as he twirled her green hair between her fingers.
