Ever was still resting in her hospital bed when her phone vibrated beside her. She hesitated before picking up, seeing Allesandro's name flashing on the screen.
She answered softly, "Hello?"
His deep voice came through, steady but urgent. "Isla wants to see you. She says she misses you."
Ever let out a soft sigh, running a hand over her forehead. "I miss her too, but I—"
"I already took them from Ambrose," Allesandro interrupted, his voice firm. "They're with me now."
Ever's breath caught. "You what?"
"I wasn't going to let him keep them any longer. Isla wanted me. Leo needs me. And you..." He paused. "You need me too."
Ever bit her lip, feeling emotions rise. "Allesandro... Ambrose will be furious."
He scoffed. "Let him be. He doesn't own our children, Ever. He had his chance to be their father."
She closed her eyes, overwhelmed. "You shouldn't have done this without talking to me first."
