"What did you say?" He asked in pure shock.
"Believe me!" His mind was now under turmoil; did she mean it? to his disappointment, he realized that she was sleep talking and meant none of all she said. he sighed and sat on the chair beside her bed watching her intently. He was amazed of how she was always this pretty while sleeping. Before he knew it, he drifted to sleep letting his head fall on her bed.
Her ruffled groans startled him from his slumber. He jolted up in worry and began checking her fever but it seemed not to be the issue. What then, he wondered.
"Bes, what is it?" he was now confused. If it is not fever, then why is she groaning in pain? She began shivering and he was now out of options. The duvet was so heavy to allow coldness affect her.
What do I do now, he thought. As he was still contemplating on what to do, she gripped his wrist tight as if her life deepened on it.
She began mumbling in her sleep. "Believe me!" She repeated her past statement. "Please believe me! Believe me! She's lying. Don't leave me!" She kept mumbling the same words over and over again. He somehow felt it was from two years ago with Kristine's scandal. He felt guilty.
Michan developed a disorder of sleep talking about the incident in particular for now two years. Every time she became sick, she mumbled about the incident every night until she recovered from the illness. She was really hurt.
Her shivering made him worry as it was turning to wilder and more dangerous for her. He without thinking, slipped himself beside her and wrapped his strong arms around her to give her extra warmth. She kept shivering so he tightened his grip around her and half an hour later, her shivering gradually reduced and she was finally calm.
Their closeness began affecting him somehow. He then regretted his fast decision. Breathing unevenly, sweating, swallowing hard; he was keeping his cool in complete struggle but he felt his inner beast fighting to come out. Did she know she had this kind of effect on him? Trying to disentangle from her, she held him tighter making it harder for him.
"Bes, please let me go you are making it hard for me to restrain from doing to you the wildness that's running in my head."
Michan opened her eyes in that moment and thought she was hallucinating as always. Seeing him here, more to say, here so close to her was pure hallucination to her. She smiled to his surprise. He thought she would push him the instant she saw him but it was the complete opposite.
She began speaking her mind.
"Bes!" The first call was what made even worse, Ginn's situation. She called him so sweetly. "Please don't believe her. If I was really the one who did share those pictures then could I still keep them in my phone?" She paused then continued with a slight pout. "That's what I wanted to tell you before but you did not listen." She began sobbing loudly and smacking him ranting. "I hate you. I hate you."
She was loud that he feared it would bring ruckus for now so he acted on one of his fantasies. He kissed slowly at first then deepened it as she did not react. As he was releasing her from the kiss, she reciprocated it and then he felt his inner beast trying to rise up. Immediately, he released her and got locked in her unique gorgeous crystal grey eyes. They spoke of the purity he had seen in her the first day they met in the park. She was just an eleven-year-old with sadness in her grey orbs that he never quite understood that time but purity was so much more even in the sadness.
"Why does this seem real?" Michan asked herself audibly enough for him to here. She was confused, she thought it was a hallucination but the kiss proved otherwise.
"Because it's real." He affirmed her suspicions and she immediately wiggled out of his embrace and trying to push him away. Her actions were disturbingly loud that he did not want to attract attention. Without thinking twice, he claimed her soft peach lips again and the moment they tasted each other's lips, their inner beasts took control.
Without knowing, she began reciprocating his kiss in the same passion and pace as him. Her hands trailed towards his neck and began kneading his coffee brown hair while he trailed to under her pajama shirt and stroke her navel sensually sending sparks to her spine. His warm lips trailed kisses down her neck and behind her ear creating burning sensations that filled her whole body. It was so different and only he had ever made her experience them. They had never shared anything this hot with Davis. Sharing a peck on the cheek was all they had ever done in all their dating time.
Planting kisses on her neck, a moan escaped from her sweet lips making him act-up more. He stroked her nipples and this drove her mind and body crazy. He was by this time on top of her. They were now wild and alien to their circumstances. He once again claimed her lips and now their kiss was fierce and demanding speaking of unfulfilled desires.
Ginn looked in her eyes once again as he rested his forehead on hers letting both of them grasp their breath and saw the lust that built in them and at that time, he realized she was not entirely sober.
"I have to stop this. You don't understand entirely what's happening." She looked at him sadly but he knew better. He kissed her and cuddled her to sleep.
"I love you. I mean it." He whispered to her and pecked her lips once again. "I want to have you as mine." He spoke the last words but she was sound asleep. He sighed and reminisced their previous moment earning a smile on his lips. He did not regret anything, he just loved it but did not want to do more without her complete consent. That night he promised himself to hold onto her no matter the situation because he had now confirmed what she made him feel and what she meant in his life.
….
"Brother! Brother!" Ginna called out but no answer. As she was searching the whole house, she almost bumped into her parents who were just returning home.
They searched her up and down and she was fine but then why was she looking tense, what's the reason. "Dear, what's wrong who are you looking for?"
"Brother, am looking for brother Mom." She immediately got tense too.
"Maybe he went to work." Mr. Thompson spoke obviously unconcerned and moved away from the drama queens. He entirely did not worry leave alone caring.
At the moment, Kristine walked in. The parents were surprised why Kristine was just returning. Wasn't she supposed to stay there?
She greeted them and welcomed them back from the trip they had embarked on.
"Aren't you supposed to stay here? And where are you coming from?" Kristine knew what they would ask and had just the best answers to cover up her trails.
"I am but some people where not comfortable with me around. So, I decided to go comfort my mom as she called me two days back. I think she was hurting from the marriage between Dad and Pranella." She ensured to bring sympathy to herself in every answer she gave.
"Enough with her facade, brother and sister-in-law are missing."
Mr. Thompson instead asked in an angry tone. "Ginna, is that how we trained to treat people why did you do that to her? Don't you know that she is still in danger because of that girl, Michan."
"Dad, are you really serious? You believed her just like that. She just came back and you all welcomed her back, are you nuts? Sorry but that's it. Brother is missing and all you are caring about is if she is safe. As if he is not your son!"
"Be careful with what you say to me young lady this is my house and I can allow whoever I want and cast out whoever I wish."
"So, dad you are threatening me because of her. Do you know that her intention was to bring shame to Ginn and all of us? I had her on the phone on the wedding day."
Mrs. Thompson looked at Kristine in disgust but Mr. Thompson remained un-changed. He instead defended her. "She was on gun point by that girl's men." His statement shocked and disappointed his wife and daughter.
Ginna shook her head in disappointment and walked to her mother. "Mom, you believe me, right?" Her eyes were enough to agree. Ginna retreated and informed them what happened in their absence.
"Kristine fed brother pineapple wine and we almost lost him." They were all shocked to learn of it. "Mom, I did not know where you kept his meds so I was completely helpless. Michan saved his life. I don't know what natural remedy she made him but he regained breath and his life was saved." This shocked them further and somehow degraded Kristine's rank.
Mother snapped out at her. "Didn't you know that my son has an allergy against pineapples? What kind of a wife would you be to him?" Kristine just kept crying as she did not account for this.
A phone ring saved her more insults she was to receive from Lilian (Ginn's mother).
"Hello. Yes brother. Where are you? We are all worried. What? When was that? Okay I will be there soon. Okay, bye. Be safe. Take care." With that, she hung up and faced Lillian. "Mom, can you believe it that Michan saved brother while she was sick herself?"
"What? Are you sure? Where are they now?"
"In the hospital. Am going there now."
"Let me go with you."
"No mom. Stay and prepare her a good motherly meal. How's that?" she agreed and Ginna was soon out of the mansion speeding to the hospital.
Danielle learnt of the news and arrived at the hospital in a jiffy. She asked around and finally she arrived finding Ginn outside the room. She quickened her steps to him in fury.
"What did you do to my friend?" Flames of fire were burning in her eyes. She had once crushed on the guy in front of her but now she kind of hated him for hurting her first true friend hence incurring great damage to her Michan's life.
"Am sorry but I did nothing it's just that she was sick since the wedding events but she hid it. I found her in bed shivering and burning up yesternight." He explained himself in haste to save himself from the fire girl in front of her. She turned and saw her friend.
After talking to her, she proved that Ginn was not lying earlier. Keep her company as I get her something. She requested and exited the hospital. Ginn entered slowly while keeping his gaze on the floor.
"Will you talk only to the floor or will you look at me and we talk?" her statement alarmed him that she might have remembered last night's events. He shot up his eyes and their gazes locked. She seemed to be drowning him in her crystal grey orbs. He involuntarily walked to her bed and sat beside her not breaking their eye contact.
She smiled but he saw sadness in her eyes. "I do not know what I told you yesterday but it's all in the past and I do not know when I will forgive you. I was deeply hurt, Ginn. Honestly, I do not know when I will forgive you because you betrayed me again when I thought I had forgiven you." Her words were slicing his heart nonstop. He kept staring in her grey orbs.
"I will wait." She looked at him in disbelief. She just thought he would not care whether she forgives him or not after all he had his Kristine. "I will give you all the time you need until you are ready to give me a chance." He sighed and braced himself. "I realized how much you mean to me and I do not want to lose you." She was now speechless.
Danielle covered her mouth in surprise as she had the whole conversation from the door outside the private ward. She realized something. Shaking her head in denial. "It can't be."
