Chapter 4 - Fresh is rotten

"Hey Johnny boy! I thought you were going to bring your sister today! How are you?"

When Johnny arrived at the filming location, the first thing he noticed was the overwhelming feeling of nostalgia, which only intensified when he heard the voice of the camera operator, Michael Powell.

Michael was a good co-worker at the time and John remembers that he was one of the few who supported him after John tried to attack Harvey Weinstein after the death of his sister.

"I changed my mind." John said with a little smile on his face. "You look good, Michael."

John said, looking at the man. He had worked with Michael Powell several times before. The last time John heard, Michael had passed away from cancer in 1998, leaving behind his wife and three children.

"Of course I look good, you look like someone just killed your puppy." Michael said, laughing afterward, and John could only shake his head in exasperation.

John then took the moment to look around the set, it was weird being on a film set after so long. The budget for Fresh was estimated to be around $1.5 million. John remembered that the movie was well received by critics and even made 1 or two million dollars of profit in the USA.

The film gained a strong following in the years following its release, particularly due to its critical acclaim and the performances of Samuel L. Jackson and Sean Nelson.

The movie tells the story of a 12-year-old Michael, known as Fresh, who is a street-smart and resourceful young boy involved in the world of drug dealing. His life is complicated by his loyalty to his family, including his sister, and the tough moral decisions he faces as he navigates the streets.

Despite being a good film, it left a bitter taste in John's mouth. He had been fired halfway through filming after punching Harvey Weinstein in the face.

"Hey you two, get to your spots, Mr. Weinstein is overseeing the filming today. He's already here."

The voice of the director of photography, Walt Lloyd, caught the attention of John and Michael. When John heard the name Harvey Weinstein, his entire body froze.

Yes, indeed. Near the producer Randy Ostrow, there was a figure that had haunted John's nightmares for years. With a prominent belly and a disgusting smile there was Harvey Weinstein.

'That bastard...'

John bit his lip and clenched his fists, trying to control himself.

He waited for this moment for all his life and now that bastard was only a few meters away. He could just walk there and kill that bastard with his own hands.

"Johnny? John? Come on, we need to go. Are you alright?"

Michael's firm hand on his shoulder distracted John from his thoughts of murdering Harvey Weinstein.

"Yeah... Let's go..."

John murmured, glancing one last time at Weinstein before heading towards the cameras.
