Chapter 20 - HER SOLDIER MAN

"Yes, we are in a romantic relationship" I replied to her, grinning widely. I needed to pepper her small at least.

Grace let out a wry laugh and walked out of the restroom, I followed and so did Vera.

"You check in there, you will see your uniform," Vera said gesturing at the camp area, she walked adjacent to where I and Grace stood.

"Seems like you've gotten yourself an enemy," Grace said smiling at me. "But, are you really dating Cal?"

"Why is everyone so surprised about that?"

"Cal don't date, I've known him since our days in NDA, and… it's just so unlike him to have a girlfriend. I bet you're his first girlfriend since I've known him. We weren't so close, but news travels a lot in NDA, you know. So, tell me the truth, do you both have a thing?"

"Yes," I felt so special and important at that moment. I gained so much confidence in myself, knowing that Cal is not just any kind of guy.

"Congratulations! Now, we need to get you all dressed up" she said as she pulled me and headed for the camp area.

After I had bathed, I started feeling funny but ignored it and wore my uniform. Trust me, I looked perfect in the uniform, Grace was super amazed at how it fitted just well.

We could hear the rumble of an airplane as it was about to land.

"We're late. We need to go now" Grace hurried me.

I started suspecting the water I had used for bathing. I felt like big trouble was about to happen because I was feeling itchy.

We headed for the plane and there I saw Cal, Vera, and some other soldiers. Cal was looking so smart and hot in his uniform, I felt like rushing to kiss him deeply but, he was angry with me, so I needed to maintain my lane and there went the itches again. I couldn't help it anymore, I wanted to scratch so badly.

"Why are you both late?" Cal asked without looking at me, he just focused on Grace.

"I'm sorry, we needed to get her ready" Grace said, pulling me closer.

Cal glanced at me and began to address us.

"I believe everyone here knows how to use a gun."

A few of them giggled. Was that supposed to be a mockery thrown at me? They are all soldiers and, of course, they would all know how to use a gun. The question was directed at me, I know what Cal was trying to do, but I'm not going to fall for that.

He started throwing a huge gun at each of us. I guess it is what they call AK47. I was so scared as it got my turn to catch it because I knew it was going to be a heavy catch and the itches on my body were becoming severe. I couldn't help it anymore, I started scratching and in a few seconds, I started screaming and drawing attention to myself.

I was dancing about, trying to relieve myself of the itching. I started undressing. They were all laughing worriedly, obviously thinking I was just acting up. I was in a mess. I didn't care to look at who was looking at me or even Cal.

For a second, a flash of thought ran through my mind. "Am I running mad?"
