I scratched as though I were going to die. It became worse, and I couldn't help it anymore, I had to take off this singlet I had on as well. But before I could, Cal held me and pulled me towards the chamber he had entered earlier on when he left me.
"I think you're reacting to the water," he said as he helped me as I took my singlet off. He also wanted to help me with my brassiere, but that was the most bizarre thing I could let happen.
"What are you trying to do?" I asked amidst my condition, at that point, two things mattered.
"Do you want to continue itching or do you need my help?" he said, and then he burst into laughter, "I am trying to rub an ointment, to relieve you of the itching"
"Can't it be rubbed without taking this off?" I asked shyly.
"No," he said, and unhooked it. I gasped instantly, my heart wouldn't stop racing. My only consolation was that it was a bit dark, so he might not be able to see what I was hiding properly. He brought out an ointment from the drawer and started rubbing it all over my body meticulously. I felt relieved instantly.
Is there anything Cal isn't good at? I felt like I was given a massage by a professional. He started from my back and was now about to continue with my front, and my heart wouldn't stop racing, but he cared less, he rubbed it all over my body and I saw the smirk on his face and pushed him away immediately.
"I can rub it myself now, thank you," I said taking the ointment from him. He didn't stop smiling, and then he bit his lips.
"Maybe it's not a horrible idea that you join the team, I don't get any moment of boredom."
I glared at him, "So, you are not mad at me anymore?"
"What would I gain if I stay mad at you? I just have to take it that you're one strong-willed woman, and learn to deal with you"
He kissed me. "Let's get going, the plane will soon take off."
I dressed up immediately and we both went to join the others in the plane.
I sat close to him, Cal and felt uncomfortable when I thought about who would have sat here if I weren't with him. I looked back and Grace was behind me, she gave me a wink and I smiled back at her, and then my eyes caught Vera, she sat alone far behind, and she was glaring at me. Then, I realized I was sitting in her seat. I looked at Cal, who seems to be more concentrated on an UGLY map! He looked at me and stroked my hair back, then gave his side smile. I smiled back, unwillingly.
"Who usually sits here?" I asked curiously.
"Vera," he said, still looking at the map and marking off locations in it. Why did he let me sit on the lion's chair? Now, she will eat me raw! The look in her eyes says so.
I was so uncomfortable on the plane because I felt a little guilty. I didn't dare look back at her again. After a few hours, I heard the pilot saying something like this is the best place to alight. I laughed wryly because I knew I had seen something like this in movies, where the plane doesn't land, they just use ropes to come down. They all stood up, and I was shocked, are they really going to do that?"
Cal looked at me and shook his head, "This is one of the reasons why I wanted you to stay back,"
Vera had already taken some bags and was the first to attempt jumping, I rushed to see how she got down. She was just so professional. Grace also got down the same way, the same way as others, and it was just me and Cal left on the plane.
"Just go down, it is not as difficult as it seems," Cal said to me, looking impatient.
"Can you give me a piggyback down?" I asked trying to act cute, but Cal wasn't buying it, he just wanted me to suffer.
"You are not serious! Get down or I will push you!"
"Ok ok ok"
I went towards the door, and you need to see the height, it was a terrible sight. I took the rope and closed my eyes.
"Just hold it tight."
"Don't say anything to me, you wicked lover!" I said as I gradually slid down with the rope, gripping it tightly and closing my eyes tightly.
"You are wasting time!" Cal screamed at me.
Jerk! Had I known, I would have stayed back. After everything I got down, but it took me a while. Cal got down after me, then the plane flew away! Idiotic plane!
They all stood before Cal. So did I.
"Sidney, you would need to pick a name," he said as he took the bag from Vera and brought out walkie-talkies. "We don't use real names here," he said as he handed one to each of us. "I am Cutie"
"Cutie?" I asked, how can he use such a dumb name? He didn't even respond to me.
"I am Miss V" Vera said
"Call me GG" Grace said
The others also said their nickname and I was left to choose mine. I decided to use Grace's style.
"I am SD"
Vera gave me that irritated look, but I acted as if I didn't see that. I love walkie-talkies! It is fun; I have seen people use it in movies. "Cutie, over! Haha. This is so much fun…"
