Chapter 2 - HER SOLDIER MAN

"Rise and shine Mrs. Annie!" I said as I opened up the blinds in her room and she struggled with the beam of morning sunlight rays on her face.

"It's so early Sidney, leave me alone!"

"It's nine o'clock ma"

"What the hell? I am late! Why didn't you wake me up on time?"

I definitely wouldn't reply to that question else anything I say would be used against me. She was busy struggling with taking off her nighty and hurrying into the bathroom and I decided to ask the question that had been on my mind.

"Are you still expecting Jake?" I asked. She glared at me for a moment and exhaled.

"Oh goodness! I totally forgot. Yes, he is coming today. Jeez! And I have to go to work today, I just hope I get back before he does."

No please, no! I hope you spend the rest of the day at your workplace and leave me alone with Jake for once. I am beautiful, I know this. Reverend Mother always complimented my beauty. Matter of fact, I was the most beautiful girl in the orphanage at that time. I am a brown-skinned girl, I have thick thin dark eyebrows, trust me it is adorable. I don't need to put on a brow pencil. I have great brown eyes, medium eyelashes, pointed nose but I heard it is big. My lips fascinate men. I have full and long hair that I have to spend money on to treat every two weeks. Everyone envies my hair, especially Mrs. Annie. I use foundation to make my face light and bright. I also use blusher, it gives me cheekbones. I am a purple eye shadow freak. The last thing I would say about myself is that I am endowed. It is not like I am proud of myself but I just need to describe how I look.

Okay, I am now ready to talk about how I learned martial arts. I left the orphanage when I was eight. I ran and lived in a foreigner's backyard. I was fed by leftovers thrown away for days. When the foreign China man found me, he nearly kicked me out. But he had a good heart. I lived with him for a year before he went back to China. Throughout that year he taught me the skills that I have today and left me with a leased house. I stayed there and built my life till I started working for Mrs. Annie, really a long time, isn't it?
