As I stepped out of the classroom, I felt like a condemned woman walking to her doom. My cheeks were burning, my palms were clammy, and all I wanted to do was find a hole in the ground deep enough to bury myself in forever.
What had I done to deserve this? Oh, right. A one-night stand with a woman who turned out to be my teacher. A glaring, intense, insanely hot teacher, but still. One who was currently plotting my academic demise with a gaze sharp enough to slice through steel. The universe, apparently, had an exceptional sense of humor.
I rubbed my temples, letting out a low groan. This is my punishment. A cosmic slap on the wrist for being an idiot and leaving without saying anything. Or maybe for letting my libido override my common sense. Either way, karma had my number, and it wasn't shy about using it.
