As I stood frozen at my workstation, staring at the random array of ingredients in front of me some recognizable, some definitely not I couldn't help but feel that Chef Bernard's definition of "pushing boundaries" might have been code for "organized chaos." My mind raced as I surveyed the chaos around me.
Three ingredients, no instructions, and magic? Sure. Why not? It's not like my magic was remotely suited to this. I could make things invisible, which was great for sneaking snacks or avoiding awkward conversations, but for cooking? Utterly useless.
I mean, who wants invisible food? How do you even know if it's done? How do you eat it? Right now my magic was being useless.
I sighed and glanced at the ingredients on my tray. A raw chicken breast, a pile of some kind of glowing blue mushrooms, and what looked suspiciously like a bright pink fruit that pulsed faintly as if it had a heartbeat. Definitely not standard kitchen fare.
