Chapter 13 - WHEN WILL IT BE PERFECT?

"Woah! That was creepy! How dare she talk to her elder in such a manner? She wasn't given proper home training. Brother, you've got a lot to take care of," Anne said as she found her way to one of the sofas.

"Oh, sh*t up! Between the both of you, I don't know who is worse. You both have the same mannerless character. Pot calling the kettle black! Ugh!" Allen was pissed.

"She is so creepy, I couldn't breathe fine. Her presence is disastrous," Jennifer said, almost crying. "I felt like I was going to die of fear."

"I wish you good luck in dying," Anne hissed and rushed upstairs to Kaylee.

"Where the h*ll are you going? She just lost her mother. Don't expect her to be all smiles," their mother asked.

"I am going to teach her a lesson. And Mom, watch your mouth! Her teeth are not up to 32."

"Why did you follow me?" Kaylee asked when she saw Anne in the veranda.

"Because... I like you," Anne said jubilantly.

"Hahaha. Low life. So because I threatened to throw you out?"

"No, not that, I am not that poor."

"Then what else? What do you want?"

"Let's be friends. You remind me of myself."

"I remind you of you? Hahaha! Sounds cool. I am Kaylee, nice to meet you."

"I am Anne, 15."

"16."

"So... you are really older?"

"Yeah! I am your Unni."

"You watch a lot of Korean movies."

"Yes! I am a fan."

They giggled. They quickly became friends because of their similar personalities.

"Tell me about yourself," Anne insisted.

"Should I? Including the secret parts?"

"Yeah... I am a secret keeper."

"Okay."

"I was born on the 12th of April, 1999," Kaylee said, adjusting herself.

"Woah! I was born on the 21st of April! Continue!"

"I got separated from my father when I was 10. It was the saddest moment of my life. I had sleepless nights because Mom and Dad always fought, spewing venomous words at each other. Father always mentioned divorce while Mom always mentioned Allen. I came 7th in my class that term because I couldn't study. I always thought of Mom and Dad during school hours. I still think of them, that's why I am still lacking academically."

"Don't even think of crying."

"Don't worry, I won't cry, I've gone past it."

"Let's hope so."
