For a moment he glanced at her, suprise etched in his gaze wondering who this beautiful lady was, before it slowly dawned on him and he realised it was aria.
So he simply glanced at Aria as he walked past her in the corridor. His gaze held a sharp, clear disdain, as though her very presence irritated him.
His steps didn't falter; he had no intention of stopping to speak with her. However, just as he moved to walk past, Aria's voice called out, stopping him in his tracks.
For a brief moment, she hesitated, her heart pounding with a mix of defiance and fear. I shouldn't be doing this, she thought. She was supposed to avoid Lucien at all costs, to steer clear of any interaction that could escalate the tension between them or trigger the curse.
But the gnawing curiosity in her heart—the desire to confront him, to demand answers overrode her better judgment.
