Sophie's POV
The hospital smelled of antiseptic and stress. I pushed the wheelchair down the corridor, Hannah sitting silently in it. David walked beside me, his sister trailing behind, but the tension was thick.
Hannah had barely said a word since she woke up, and the few words she had spoken were sharp.
"I don't want to see him again," Hannah finally muttered, her voice low but firm.
David froze mid-step, his face falling. "Hannah, please—"
"Just shut up," I snapped at him, my voice cutting through the awkward silence. "Let's get her home without any more drama."
David clenched his fists but didn't say another word. His sister gave me an apologetic glance, but I wasn't in the mood for pleasantries.
The ride back to my apartment was tense. Hannah stared out the window, her jaw set. David looked like he wanted to say something, but I shot him a glare that made him think twice. His sister fidgeted in the back seat, clearly uncomfortable.
