Eleanor Steele's POV
The warm aroma of lavender oil filled the air as the masseuse's hands glided over my shoulders. Paris was divine—exactly the escape I needed. Here, no one dared to question me or demand anything. Life was about indulgence, and I was reveling in every second of it.
The faint buzz of my phone interrupted my bliss. I ignored it. Whoever it was could wait. But then it buzzed again, louder this time, vibrating insistently against the marble table.
I sighed heavily, waving the masseuse away as I grabbed the phone. "What?" I snapped, irritated that someone dared disturb me.
"Cassandra fainted," Damien's voice came through, sharp and filled with an edge of panic he tried to hide.
I rolled my eyes. "So?"
"Now Amelia has collapsed too," he continued, his voice hardening. "I don't know what's going on, Eleanor."
