Mei POV
Mr.Jung told me that, we will be seeing his Grandpa.
I had no say in this, I'm simply following instructions.
"Ma'am, this way". The driver opened the car door for me to get in.
I sat waiting for Mr.Jung. Every minute that passed by, I felt anxious.
"Mei". Mr.Jung called my name with a look of guilt.
"Good morning Mr.Jung". I greeted him.
"Mei, please drop the formalities". I didn't want to be awkward, I loved the way things were before.
"Just call me Jung and we are meeting my grandpa for marriage blessing". I know his doing this for his family name.
On getting to his house, I couldn't help but feel anxious.
'What I'm I thinking, I don't need to prove anything to them'.
"Sigh". I sighed softly.
"What is it, you don't have to worry, my Grandpa as a soft spot for people". He assured me.
"Young Master, Madam". A middle age man, probably the family butler, bowed slightly to show his respect.
"Mr.Chau, is my grandpa inside?". Jung asked.
"Yes, he seem to have been waiting for your arrival".
We walked into the mansion quietly.
"Grandpa Ling". I bowed with respect
"Darling, come sit". He motioned for me to sit across him.
"I've heard some of you from my son here. He might look dense but he's a softy once he opens his heart". I looked at Jung sitting close to me to confirm he expression and I noticed, he seem to be embarrassed. I was smiling subconsciously.
"Grandpa, stop it". I felt revealed that his family was nice.
"I came here for something serious, I want to marry Mei". He said firmly, he didn't plead for permission.
"You know Mei, you're the first girl Jung brought home". Really, I thought he would have lot's of girlfriend.
"Ah.. He did have a first love". Grandpa Ling said.
"Stop it pops". I saw the expression grandpa made the moment he heard Jung call him Pops. I think it hate's it.
"Hahaha". I chuckled lightly.
Jung POV
I watch Mei laugh. Ever since we got the pregnancy news, she didn't smile like a usual self.
I felt revealed she didn't feel left out.
"When he was nine, he came home smiling. He said a girl saved him. He got the girl flowers to show his gratitude". Grandpa said making me recall my past.
................
"Roarrrrrrrr". A girl with pigtail braids chased the dog chasing after me.
"Don't cry, I would have cried too if I couldn't frighten the dog". The little boy wiped the tears from his face.
"Where is your mommy?". She asked curious.
"I don't have a mom". The little boy said sadly.
"What about a dad?".
"I don't have daddy too but I have a grandpa". She could tell he loved his Grandpa.
"Okay, I might not be older but you can take me as a mother". She patted her chest and said proudly.
"Huh, where did you learn that from". The boy asked in surprise finding a reply hilarious.
"My mother said that to my dad.... oops". She regret bringing her parents up.
"Don't worry, I'm used to it". He said dusting off the dirt from his shirt.
"Now". She stretched out her hands out.
"Hmm, what for". The boy pointed to her outstretched hand
"My reward, I just saved you". She demanded for a gift.
"I don't have any". He didn't want to lie to her.
"Then meet me tomorrow with a bouquet of flowers". She told him before saying.
"If you get the flowers, we will become friends".
This little girl was the most energetic and proud girl I had ever seen
"Young madam". A woman called out to her. One could tell that it was her nanny calling her
"Bye, see you tomorrow"
