Chapter 38 - Chapter 38

Harmony kept on looking on her phone but there was no message from Drake.

Earlier this morning, she remembered that the man said that he would be busy because of a business proposal so he didn"t pick her and dropped her at school.

It hadn"t even been a day and yet she knew to herself that she was already missing the person.

She let out a deep sigh as she looked outside of the window of their classroom. She never had this kind of feeling before and she was starting to get afraid. What if she wouldn"t be able to stop herself from liking Drake?

She knew that she couldn"t get out of their contract and aside from that she really didn"t want to get out of it. In fact, she was wishing that they were not pretending to be girlfriend and boyfriend at all.

She was wishing that one day Drake would say to her that he wanted her to be his real girlfriend.

"What are you thinking?" One of her classmates asked.

It was Julia. She was one of the students who was taking their masteral just like her. She couldn"t say that they were closed but they greet each other when they meet in the hallway and even in the classroom.

"Just the exam," she simply replied and smiled at her.

She raised her eyebrows as if she didn"t believe what she said.

"What?" She said and then she laughed because of her reaction.

Julia shook her head.

"I just couldn"t believe it, Harmony. I mean, the exam isn"t that difficult and I know and you know that you will be on to it again. You always ace the exam so I can"t believe what you just said," she said while she shook her head. She just shrugged her shoulders. She didn"t know but she was not fond of telling anyone about her problems. That"s the reason why she didn"t have a lot of friends even when she started working.

She could eat alone and walk alone, unlike those other girls that couldn"t even go to the washroom alone.

Harmony was so different from other girls. She seemed not to be dependent on anyone. Well, she was depending on her happiness back then to Paul. He was her world. He was the only person that could make her feel okay and smile despite her problems but that all changed when the man had left her alone. She could still remember that day but she was surprised when she couldn"t feel any hurt because of that.

She couldn"t help but smile because of that thought. She knew that she was no longer affected by what her ex-boyfriend said and what she had done to her.

Harmony couldn"t even feel any anger towards Paul. Probably, he already fell out of love and he just didn"t have the courage to tell her about it until he was already sure.

She couldn"t blame him. No one could stop what heart could feel but he should have been at least honest with their relationship."So, now you are smiling? You know what? I am starting to get afraid here," Julia"s voice brought her back to reality.

"Silly, why are you even here?" She said asking her because usually Julia would go out with other students but she was surprised because the woman even sat next to her.

She shook her head. "I just heard what happened to you and Paul then Cynthia," she said and then looked at her.

"Ah, that one. It was nothing for me. Not a big deal," she said blandly.

"I see but do you know that Cynthia liked Paul and I saw Paul the other day with another woman," Julia said, still looking at her as if she wanted to see her reaction.

She just nodded but she was starting to wonder because of the way that she was staring at her. It was as if she was expecting some from her reaction.

But sorry to her, she was no longer interested with Paul. Paul already ended what was between the two of them when he walked out of the coffee shop.

Everything had already ended without any proper explanation.

"Actually, I saw him the other day with another woman," she said casually. She couldn"t feel any bitterness with that fact. "But, we already broke up and so whatever he wanted to do. And, whoever he wanted to date is no longer my business," she added.

"I am sorry,"Julia said and then she looked down. She was obviously embarrassed.

Harmony knew that Julia was just getting information to her and she knew her very well. They had been classmates twice in their masteral class.

"It"s okay. But yeah, I really don"t mind whoever Paul would like to date because he already put an end to our relationship," she said, not sounding affected at all about their break up."If you say so," Julia said and then she shrugged her shoulders. She stood up and the woman left her.

She shook her head because she was acting like she was a media person that would like to ask about something in her private life.

She hated those kinds of girls that would go near her and approach her as if she was their friend but the truth was they were just getting information so they could spread rumors about her. A lot of girls had attempted to do that and asked what really happened between her and Paul.

She couldn"t believe that her breakup with the man would be a hot topic on campus. Her breakup with the man gave her instant popularity and she hated it.

Harmony looked at her mobile phone again but just to her dismay, there was no call nor text from Drake.

Probably he was so busy that he couldn"t even send her a message.

She was starting to hate herself because she couldn"t deny the truth that she was missing the man so badly.
