Chapter 3 - The Shape of Deceit 3

Chapter 4: The Tension

As Alexander and Michael shook hands, Alex couldn't help but notice the tension between them. It was palpable, and she wondered what had caused it.

"So, Alexander, what brings you here today?" Alex's father asked, breaking the silence.

"I'm here to discuss a potential business deal," Alexander replied, his eyes never leaving Michael's face.

Alex's father nodded. "I see. Well, let's discuss it over lunch. Alex, would you please show our guests to the dining room?"

As Alex led the way, she couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. There was something going on between Alexander and Michael, and she wasn't sure what it was.

As they sat down to lunch, Alex's mother asked, "So, Alexander, tell us more about this business deal."

Alexander smiled. "It's a potential investment opportunity. I believe it could be very lucrative for all parties involved."

Michael's eyes narrowed. "I'm not sure I agree," he said. "I think there are too many risks involved."

Alexander's smile never wavered. "I understand your concerns, Michael. But I believe the potential rewards far outweigh the risks."

As the conversation continued, Alex found herself becoming more and more intrigued. What was going on between Alexander and Michael? And what did it have to do with her family's business?

Chapter 5: The Investment Opportunity

Alexander, a normal-looking man in his late 30s, smiled as he discussed the potential investment opportunity with Alex's father.

"I believe this investment could be very lucrative for your company, Mr. Smith," Alexander said. "And for my own company, as well."

Alex's father nodded thoughtfully. "I'm interested in hearing more, Alexander. Please, tell me more about your proposal."

As Alexander began to explain the details of the investment opportunity, Alex couldn't help but notice the way her sister Natasha was watching him. Natasha, a beautiful white-complexioned young woman with a rude attitude, seemed to be sizing Alexander up.

"I don't trust him," Natasha whispered to Alex, as they sat at the table. "He seems too good to be true."

Alex rolled her eyes. "Natasha, don't be ridiculous. Father is just discussing a potential investment opportunity with him."

But Natasha just smirked. "I know what I saw. And I don't like it."

Meanwhile, Lucas, Alex's brother, sat quietly at the table, observing the conversation. Lucas, a handsome light-brown-complexioned young man, was always the calm and rational one in the family.

As the conversation continued, Alex found herself becoming more and more intrigued. What did Alexander's investment opportunity entail? And why was Natasha being so rude to him?
