Chapter 8: Michael's Return
As the day went on, Alex couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. She kept thinking about Michael, the handsome stranger who had come to their house earlier.
Just as she was starting to wonder if she would ever see him again, Michael walked back into the room.
"Hello again," he said, smiling at Alex.
Alex felt a flutter in her chest as she smiled back at him.
"What brings you back here?" Mr. Smith asked, looking at Michael with a curious expression.
"I was wondering if I could have a word with Alex," Michael replied.
Alex's parents exchanged a look, and then Mr. Smith nodded.
"Very well," he said. "You can talk to Alex in the garden."
As Alex followed Michael out to the garden, she couldn't help but wonder what he wanted to talk to her about.
