Chapter 21 - A game for two

 Abrielle was so exhausted and deep in sleep that she didn't sense something on her neck or the blood trickling down. She slowly turned to the other side of the bed and mumbled some rubbish. 

 She was completely vulnerable in her sleep and had no idea of the danger by her side. The voice in Cedric's head kept on whispering to his ears. "Kill her!" 

 "If you don't end her she will end you." 

 "No one stands against you and lives." 

 The words kept on echoing in Cedric's head; his grip on the hilt of the sword tightened, and he raised his hand to cut her neck. 

 He was so close to ending her life because all his senses were telling him that ending her was the best option. How was he going to live with someone who might poison him in his sleep or strangle him to death when he was unaware? He was a monster, but he had never done anything to her before she met him, and yet all she thought about was to kill him.
