Chapter 6 - Welcome to the Guild

At night Lucian and Orphelia were making love, she was letting out moans and cries of pleasure, she was riding him and her breasts made a sound as they flew and hit his body, the walls prevented the sound from reaching the other rooms, but Kaly could hear everything, her dragon ears could perceive the smallest of sounds and it was possible to control them so as not to hear, but she liked the sound of the couple.

Darius heard his mother moaning, he inherited the ears when he made the pact with Kaly, he heard this sound every night, one day it stopped bothering him, but the smell of his mother the next day awoke a different sensation in him, something he hadn't felt in his past life.

After a few minutes, a noise was heard, it was a window breaking, Kaly identified where it came from and went to the couple's bedroom, there was a woman in a short outfit that didn't completely cover her body when Kaly entered he saw that the woman had a knife in her right hand and her left hand was on top of her black panties.

Kaly cast her fire magic at the woman, she flew out of the window and her body landed on a bush, Kaly turned to Orphelia and looked at her breasts for a few seconds, she noticed how much bigger they were than her own. Then she jumped out of the window and realized that the woman was dead.

Kaly returned to the bedroom, the couple were dressed.

"She ended up dead, but I can extract some information from the body, I'll bring you some news soon," she said as she jumped out of the window again.

Kaly held the woman by the head and some thoughts were read, many impure, she was from the assassins' guild and had sex for money, these thoughts were the ones Kaly accessed the most. Then she went to the clients, she got a name, Count Kingsle.

Kaly went back to her room and asked Lucian to put on something other than his pajamas and go to the dungeon in 20 minutes.

She started flying and headed towards the Count's mansion, after a few minutes she used invisibility magic and entered the nobleman's room, then she used magic to prevent him and his wife from waking up. Kaly carried the Count's body, then flew to Lucian's mansion, where she tied the Count to a chair.

Lucian was just entering the dungeon when he saw the Count tied up. He didn't understand and was worried at the same time, as this was a crime.

"Don't worry, no one saw me, I used invisibility magic and managed to kidnap the man who ordered your death, what are we going to do with him?"

Kaly didn't like the idea of doing that, but protecting Darius' family was necessary.

In the morning Kaly woke Darius up and served him breakfast in bed, she was in a hurry and wanted to go to the Guild, she thought the time was right for that, he was already strong and could defend himself with a sword, his use of magic was not yet focused on attacking.

They went with a carriage to a part of the city, then they got out and walked, she didn't want to attract too much attention from the adventurers, so much so that she changed Darius' clothes to simpler ones, he was wearing a brown shirt and pants that seemed to be made of leather, at his waist was a small sword that in the hands of an adult looked like a dagger.

They entered and people stared at them, in fact, the men stared at Kaly, some approached her and she ignored them completely. They went up to a counter and a woman with cat ears answered them, she was wearing a white shirt and a green skirt and vest.

She was cheerful and asked how she could help, Kaly said she wanted to sign him up as an adventurer, she left him there with the attendant and went to a board with various missions.

"Can you read or do you need help?"

"I can read."

"Before you fill in the form, I need to explain how the Guild works. People need a service, whether it's a normal person or a noble. The contractor specifies what he wants and says how much he wants to pay for the service, of which the Guild gets a share, and each adventurer can choose whether or not to go on the mission. However, if he goes more than 3 months without accepting any mission, the adventurer must pay a fee of 2 gold coins if he wants to continue being an adventurer, if he chooses not to continue, then his license is annulled and he can return to being an adventurer after 6 months, but he must return to the lowest rank, which is F." She paused as she picked up a piece of paper, on which were all the ranks. "Each new adventurer starts at the lowest rank, and after 10 missions he is promoted to the E-rank, after 20 missions there is a test to become D-rank and so it continues for each rank, the test is mandatory to level up, but the adventurer can choose whether or not to take it if he does and fails the adventurer continues for another 2 months at the same rank, until he takes a new test and passes, or he can continue without taking the test. So far so good?"

"It was a lot, but I get it."

"Perfect, knowing that, we have the ranks: F, E, D, C, B, A, S, and SS. Currently, there are only three SS people and eight S people in our Kingdom, all the Guilds are interconnected in a system, in which we can know if a license is valid or not considering the criteria of other countries, so if you go to another Kingdom, just present the license and you can carry out a mission there, without having to do another registration."

She left and went to a door behind her, after a few seconds she came back with a form.

"I need you to fill in the form and then hand it to me."

Darius took the paper and began to fill it out. He didn't put his father's title on it at any point, as he remembered that he wouldn't inherit it and so it would be useless, as a class he put mage, and in the team section he didn't know how to fill it in.

"What do I put under team?"

"The team are people who would team up with you on missions, some missions may ask for more than one person to carry out, however, the number is optional, except for missions that are dangerous and the Guild really considers it mandatory. If you don't have anyone, you can leave it blank."

"Put my name down there, we'll make a team," said Kaly.

"Are you an adventurer?"

"Yes."

Someone laughed, but she didn't care, from far away she heard something like adventurous nanny.

"I need your card, it's protocol."

Kaly took out a card from a bag of items she owned and handed it to the attendant.

The attendant began to read aloud. "Kalynrae Duskveil, mage, SS-rank." She said it loudly, so loudly that people stopped making fun of her.

"What is someone so strong doing next to that weak boy?"

Kaly approached the man who said this, he was big and full of muscles, she put her hand on his neck and lifted him up.

"If you say anything about him, I swear I'll reduce your existence to nothing, and if I know that anyone else here has said anything, you'll see me."

She let go of the man and returned to Darius' side.

"I'm sorry you had to witness that, I hope they behave themselves."

Darius didn't say anything, he didn't know what he should say.

"I'll team up with him and we'll do these D-rank missions."

"But I'm still F-rank."

"At this rank, you can do missions at F-rank or E-rank, but as we'll be forming a team we can do missions at the average of our rank, which would be C-rank, so we can do this mission without any problem, as it's a lot bigger, if we do three you'll go up a level, so we'll do bigger and bigger missions."

"That's right, I'll finish registering you and then I'll register the mission with your team."

The receptionist took the form and put it into a strange machine, lights came out of it and then a card came out, the machine looked like a different printer.

She took the card and then wrote down the numbering in a notebook.

"Here's your card, it serves as your identity and adventurer's ID, with it you can go to other cities and countries without paying the entry fee, if you lose it you can ask for another one, but you'll have to pay a fee of 2 silver coins."

Darius took out his card and the receptionist wrote down Kaly's card number, then handed it back.

"I've registered the mission, now you can have it and you must finish it within 3 days, if you don't, you'll be charged a fee." She paused. "I was going to forget, the Guild offers a banking service, you can leave your money in one Guild and receive it in another, or just leave it in the Guild, so you'll have it safe, it's also possible to use it to pay fees or even missions, in case you want to make any requests here."

Darius and Kaly left the Guild, but first Kaly approached the man and stared at him for a few seconds. As she was leaving, a woman from his group stood up and picked up her bow, she aimed at Kaly's back and shot. Kaly turned quickly and caught the arrow with his right hand.

"I think this is yours," she said as she approached the table and handed the arrow to the woman.

"Never underestimate someone who has reached the SS-rank," said a woman with red hair and a short outfit, her shirt was tight and highlighted her breasts and Darius couldn't take his eyes off her, but he felt no carnal desire for her. Part of her ass was showing, and when she walked you could see part of a tattoo.

The woman approached the man and punched him, then approached the archer and lifted her up, staring into her eyes.

"If you do that again, I swear I'll end your race."

She approached Kaly bowed slightly and apologized for their behavior. The woman's name was Elara, the head of the Guild, a former S-rank adventurer.
