Fireballs roared, frost spread, and lightning chained from monster to monster as the towers unleashed their deadly symphony. At the forefront, the Fart Towers dominated the battlefield with their oppressive green mist.
The battlefield beyond Lucian's territory was a scene of pure chaos. The monsters came in endless waves, their grotesque forms collapsing under the relentless onslaught of tower defenses.
Yet, it was clear that the Fart Towers, despite their comical nature, were the linchpins of the defense.
"These Fart Towers are the real MVPs," Lin Daiyu remarked with a sly smile, her delicate features betraying a hint of amusement.
Lucian's face darkened. He knew she was right, but hearing it said aloud still stung.
Upgraded to Level 4, the Fart Towers had grown into an unstoppable force, their debilitating fog reducing even the strongest monsters to quivering heaps. Without them, the tide of creatures would have surely overwhelmed the defenses.
"It's absurd," Lucian muttered, scratching his head, "but I can't argue with results."
As the waves of lesser creatures thinned, a new sound emerged from the mist—a thunderous, electric roar.
Emerging from the darkness were larger, more terrifying monsters. Their bodies crackled with lightning, their malevolent eyes glowing with intelligence.
"Elite monsters," Lucian muttered grimly, watching the advancing horde. "And a lot of them."
The elites charged forward with unrelenting fury. Some succumbed to the Fart Towers' effects, collapsing in agony. But others, their lightning-infused bodies seemingly resistant to the mist, pushed through the cloud and advanced toward the Decayed Wood Walls.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Lightning-infused fists slammed into the walls, each strike chipping away at their durability. The decay curse of the walls managed to slow down some monsters, but against these elites, it wasn't enough.
Durability: -10! -10! -10!
Lucian clenched his fists. "The walls won't hold. Daiyu, Keqing—it's time!"
Lin Daiyu stepped forward, her expression calm but her eyes blazing with determination. Beside her, Qin Keqing drew the Wind Moon Mirror, the artifact shimmering with icy light.
The two heroines leapt into action.
Lin Daiyu: The Fist of Destruction
Her movements were graceful yet devastating. As her Heavenly Silk Gloves tightened around her hands, the white-scaled texture glowed faintly. She lunged forward with Bajiquan, her strikes causing explosive shockwaves.
With each punch, massive craters formed in the ground. Ordinary monsters were obliterated instantly, while even the elites staggered under her relentless assault.
Qin Keqing: The Frost Sorceress
Keqing, on the other hand, exuded elegance and precision. With a wave of her hand, a wave of Frost Breath blanketed the battlefield, freezing monsters in place. The ice spread rapidly, immobilizing dozens of elites at once.
Her Wind Moon Mirror glowed faintly as it amplified her magic. The once-terrifying elites became helpless statues, their monstrous forms encased in glittering frost.
Meanwhile, Lucian commanded the Steel Armored Boars into the fray. The 40-strong boar squad charged like living battering rams, their thick, metallic hides smashing through lines of monsters.
"Wild Charge!" Lucian shouted.
The boars surged forward, their combined weight and momentum crushing everything in their path. Even the elites, with their formidable strength, found themselves trampled and broken.
Backed by the unyielding firepower of the towers, the heroes and boars quickly turned the tide of battle.
As the elite monsters fell, Lucian checked his heroes' stats with satisfaction.
Lin Daiyu (Level 4):
Physique: 360 (+21)
Spirit: 50 (+7)
Skills: Bajiquan (Level 3)
Qin Keqing (Level 4):
Physique: 185 (+11)
Spirit: 185 (+18)
Skills: Frost Breath (Level 3)
Despite being a simple melee fighter, Lin Daiyu's strength was unrivaled. Her punches hit with the force of a missile, obliterating monsters with precision and ease.
On the other hand, Qin Keqing's Frost Breath provided unparalleled crowd control, slowing and freezing entire groups of enemies at once.
The battle raged on, the combined might of towers, heroes, and boars overwhelming the remaining elite monsters.
In the midst of the chaos, Lin Daiyu glanced at Lucian and smirked. "You've got quite the collection of weapons, but I think my fists are still the best."
Qin Keqing, her voice soft but firm, added, "With the Frost Mirror, nothing can stand in our way."
Lucian chuckled. "Keep it up, ladies. We're not done yet."
