Chapter 17 - Sonya Found Out

"What's wrong with him?" Sonya eventually asked while squirting her eyes as though she intended to dig a hole in the table to see what was going on under the table.

Sylvie looked at the principal with a complicated look; she didn't know how to reply to this one; for a moment, she allowed her mind to wander somewhere else, and she searched for a way to go around this situation.

Finding nothing to think of she focused on the principal herself.

The principal—a black-haired Neko woman, her black hair cascaded down her back neatly combed, and her dark blue eyes showed experience and wisdom. Her perfectly balanced figure.

She was a beauty—and known for her dangerous instincts and prowees.

At the end of her thoughts, Sylvie had decided on what to say.

"It's about his race, being levels lower than normal humans, Peter always experiences severe hunger issues, you see. His eyes would glow red and start groaning like a beast. That's why I wanted to take him out with me and get something to eat immediately." Sylvie explained adding hand gestures to make everything make sense.

Given the results from the stone, Sonya would easily believe Sylvie's statement, right? The Appraisal Stones never lie!

[00:03: 29] he continued groaning nonstop.

"So you mean at my current level, I can't mind influence, Sonya?" at first he thought this might be his only get-out, influence Sonya, then drink Sylvie's blood and everything would be done.

But that kind of imagination was thrown out of the window by Elena.

[You are even stupid to think of something like that—i guess thanks to your hunger— but If you have a death wish, then go on, be my guest, but I believe you're not that narrow.] Peter gritted his teeth; she was right; he was being blinded by his hunger.

But now, what was he supposed to do? He was thirsty, he was craving for blood, and he didn't have time to worry if he was thinking rationally or not, did he?

[00:03:00] Most times, he would have thanked the system for doing such a miraculous job of reminding him of the time he was remaining with, but right now...

"System... Shut Up!" ... It was more like his enemy's annoying voice that wanted nothing but to make his already bad mood sour.

[Your anger and hunger are growing stronger!] What an actual ***k he wanted to curse but it was worthless to curse this inhuman thing.

"Ugh..." he started feeling pain down his throat; it was becoming so dry, and though it was a little water drop, it faced the endless desert.

The odds were not equal.

[This is the problem with new vampires, you guys can't control your urges at all!] Elena's voice was a reminder to him how difficult his journey through this is going to be.

"If that's the case, I can just call someone to get some food delivered here in the office ASAP, it saves you from moving out, right?" Sonya came up with an idea.

"What a good idea!" Sylvie thought sarcastically.

The woman did not leave any loose ends Sylvie could utilize, Sonya was not helping at all.

Come to think of it, she wasn't supposed to help in the first place, yeah...

"Yeah... Am going crazy now!" provided she would go crazy after helping him.

Cracks!!!!

The table between them cracked at the end where Peter was gripping with all his strength. Simultaneously Sonya and Sylvie looked his way, where the cracking sound came from.

Sylvie didn't know what to think anymore. Time seemed to have frozen for her; why, why did it come this soon?

Sonya looked so surprised.

"Didn't the stone just say a Less Human was so weak and..." No, she won't think of that; the important thing is, no Human who had just awakened their Ember Spark could crack the hardest wood in the world by just gripping it.

But a Less Human just did it, no less!

Thinking from Sonya's point of view...

"So he gets a boost in strength when he's hungry, that's new!" it turned out the Principal had some loose screws in her head, at least it seemed that way to the troubled Sylvie.

Sonya's line of thought followed the description of his race and Sylvie's previous words, she didn't try to think outside these.

[Try to calm down; this time it's dangerous. You will get exposed if you don't.] indeed, this was so dangerous.

Crack!

"This is supposed to be some kind of curse, not power at all!" Peter nearly cursed now.

The table and floor tiles cracked at the same time; reacting on time, he hid his hands under the table; his handnails had turned into claws, and not only them but his toenails too had ripped holes in his shoes.

They were daggering on the floor.

"UGH..." this time, he was louder; looking down; saliva escaped through his gritted fangs; if they looked closely, they would have seen the two fangs were so long and piercing his gums.

No! Sylvie had had enough; she blurred from her position, spooking him in her hands. They burst through the wooden office door, leaving a gaping hole staring at Sonya as if asking to quit the job it had been doing for as long as it could remember.

The latter was left in a daze; what just happened? Why the overreaction?

No something was not right, something was not damn right!

"What do you think?" she asked... Seemingly to an Empty Air????

***

"Hey, what was that????" a boy exclaimed; something had just knocked him out of that way, and he was thrown into a rocker.

What helped him not to feel any pain was his awakened, powerful body; maybe that's why the one who just sent him flying didn't care...

"Still, that fucker should be careful, tsk; being powerful doesn't mean I won't feel angry for being thrown like a rag dog! I'm a Kindled, for fuck's sake," he complained, shouting loud.

"Use that Kindled brain then and know whoever knocked you off is stronger than you; if they were to hear you, you're done for!" his friend said, looking at him as though he was a fool. Power and status ruled in the academy before the administration came.

"Tell him too, that was "The Crazy Delphyne"!" beside them was a man, he was lean and good-looking, with two hairy ears resembling a cat's, not only that he had a tail behind him.

He was a male Neko, a cat beast folk like Sonya.

After saying that, he pocked his phone in his pants, with a hood covering his head. He moved away, leaving the boy shivering on the floor with his friend standing beside him, not in better shape than his friend. The name Delphyne is still in their heads.
