A Day of Embarrassment
Katherine's voice pierced through Ascar's sleep, "Ascar, wake up! You're going to be late for school!" Ascar groggily opened his eyes, rubbing the sleep away. He didn't want to go to school. He didn't want to face the bullies again. Tyler, Jake, and Ryan were their names, and they seemed to take great pleasure in making Ascar's life miserable.
Ascar rolled over, trying to ignore his mom's calls. But Katherine was not one to be ignored. She marched into his room, pulled back the covers, and said, "Ascar, get up! You need to get ready for school. And if you don't get up in the next 10 minutes, I'll have to come in here and give you a bath myself!"
Ascar's eyes widened in horror. He couldn't bear the thought of his mom bathing him like a child. He quickly threw off the covers and got out of bed. "Okay, okay! I'm up!" he said, trying to sound as awake and alert as possible.
Ascar rushed through his morning routine, trying to get ready as quickly as possible. As he was brushing his teeth, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. He looked tired and worn out. He couldn't help but wonder if things would ever get better.
As he walked to school, Ascar couldn't shake off the feeling of dread that had been building up inside him. He hated school, hated the bullies, and hated the way he felt like an outcast.
As he turned a corner, he noticed an old abandoned house that stood at the end of the street. It was a creepy-looking place, with broken windows and a crooked roof. But as Ascar passed by the house, he felt a strange sensation wash over him. It was like a buzzing or a vibration, and it seemed to be coming from the house itself.
Ascar felt a shiver run down his spine as he wondered what could be causing the strange sensation. But he didn't have time to investigate further. He had to get to school.
Ascar arrived at school just as the bell was ringing. He rushed to his locker to grab his books for his first class. But as he was walking to class, he was confronted by Tyler, Jake, and Ryan.
"Hey, look who's here!" Tyler sneered. "It's the school's resident wimp!"
Ascar tried to ignore them, but they only seemed to get more aggressive. They followed him to his next class, which was physical education. Ascar tried to focus on the game, but the bullies were relentless.
After the game, Ascar headed to the showers to clean up. But as he was showering, he heard the sound of laughter and teasing. He turned around to see Tyler, Jake, and Ryan standing in the doorway, holding his clothes.
"Hey, Wythers! You're going to have to come out here naked!" Tyler taunted.
Ascar felt a wave of embarrassment wash over him. He tried to cover himself up, but it was too late. The bullies had already called the principal and other students to come and see him.
Ascar was mortified. He quickly grabbed a towel and wrapped it around himself, trying to make a hasty exit. But the damage was already done. The whole school was laughing at him, and Ascar felt like he was going to die from embarrassment.
Ascar quickly got dressed and left the school, not wanting to face anyone again. As he walked home, he felt a sense of relief wash over him. He was finally free from the torment of the bullies.
But as he turned a corner, he saw the old abandoned house again. And once again, he felt that strange sensation wash over him. This time, it was stronger than before.
Ascar felt a sense of curiosity wash over him. What was causing this strange sensation? And why did it seem to be coming from the old abandoned house?
Ascar's curiosity got the better of him. He slowly walked towards the house, feeling the sensation grow stronger with each step.
As he reached the front door, Ascar hesitated for a moment. Something was telling him to turn back, to leave the house alone. But his curiosity was too strong.
Ascar slowly turned the handle and pushed the door open. He stepped inside, calling out to see if anyone was there.
But there was no answer. The house was silent, except for the creaking of the old wooden floorboards beneath Ascar's feet.
Ascar took a deep breath and stepped further into the house. He had no idea what he was getting himself into, but he was determined to find out.
