The Arkon Expanse was unlike anything they had seen before. Jagged cliffs and skeletal trees jutted from the ground like twisted fingers clawing at the sky. The air was heavy and damp, carrying the faint metallic tang of danger. The earth beneath their feet was a mixture of cracked stone and ash-like soil, dotted with bioluminescent fungi that pulsed in eerie hues of blue and green. Strange shadows flickered across the horizon, distorted by the shimmering heatwaves that rose from the ground. Every sound seemed amplified, from the crunch of their boots on the brittle soil to the distant cries of unseen creatures.
The group ventured deeper, their senses on high alert. It wasn't long before the first beasts emerged from the shadows. Three grotesque creatures with spiked tails and gnarled, leathery skin lunged at them. Their eyes glowed with an unnatural yellow light, and their snarls reverberated through the air like thunder.
