Kaden's eyes narrowed as he watched the sisters disappear into the twisted landscape. His harsh words still hung in the air: "You're nothing but burdens now. Get out of my sight before you end up like him." He said looking at the lifeless body of Garrick on the floor, the warrior's blood still pooling beneath his massive frame. The cruel statement had the intended effect – their faces had crumpled with hurt before they fled. Better hurt than dead, he thought grimly as he turned to face the Horned Gleemer. And he had sent them to find help, but he doubted that help would arrive in time, or even if the girls would make it out of the expanse by themselves alive.
