Chapter 2 - Familiar Place

Sylias's hand moved to above her head, soon after, she felt a touch, it was something soft with furs surrounding it and has a pointy end like a cone.

"Huh..?"

She raised her left eyebrow in confusion at first, but it was then that she realized, the soft thing that she was holding with her hand is actually her ears, there is also a white tail on her back.

"WHAT THE- Fuck!?" She screams out of reflex but quickly stopped and quieted down as to not bother whoever outside the room.

"This white hair and ears.. I can't be wrong, i've seen it for years, this is Sylias! My game character from Serpent Journey.."

Sylias's game character was a demihuman, more specifically it was a mix of human and wolf, she chose this race because of its heightened senses and smell, basically she could see way farther on her in-game map and have a locator for monsters, its a race for gatherer and recon, having the ability to see where monster was on the map and also having the map area larger than anyone else is an advantage, although it does have some pros and cons to balance it out.

The realization felt like a blessing to Sylias, she couldn't hold her smile as it slowly appears on her face, she wants to jump in excitement right now but managed to calm down and regained her composure, but there was something else that is excited, and that is her tail that kept swaying behind her, her smile began to fade gradually and Sylias thought about her next plan.

'When you get reincarnated, the usual thing that happened is that you first arrived in a secluded area like a forest or a cave, but in my case.. I immeditely arrived in a town..'

Despite the surge of emotion that happened a moment ago, in Sylias's mind, her inner voice sounded calm like a stagnant water.

'This might become troublesome, i don't know anything about this world except the fact that this is a fantasy world, if the people in here speaks different language, i have no choice but to learn it little by little.'

'Lets think about what i should expect in here.. Theres probably dragons, magics, goblins, and all sort of monsters that i usually see in fantasies, beside that.. There is adventurer's guild, nobles.. And..'

It took a while for her to name everything, but in the end it was all just a guess, she could be wrong at some part, instead of trying to guess, Sylias decided that the best course of action right now is see the world herself and go outside, in this world, there is no computer or electronic devices, nothing can keep her entertained except books and other simple stuff.

Sylias looked around her room once more. now that she can see more clearly because of the light that is coming from outside, she realized that there is more things in the room than she expected, on her right, there is a wooden wardrobe for storing clothes, and beside that wardrobe, leaning against it, is an ominous magic staff that looks like it was an item made for end-game players, the design on it is crazily beautiful, with a ball that is being surrounded by a floating rings that is also present at the middle point of the staff.

The appearance of that magic staff peaked Sylias's interest as she felt familiarity with it, she walked closer to get a look.

"Isn't this.." Sylias said as she grabbed the staff and inspects it closely.

"The Abyssal Monolith Staff?.."

'This is a staff that you get from defeating the Abyssal King Serpent, the literal strongest boss that you can challenge in the dungeon of Serpent Journey..' She thought.

'Why is this here?'

Sylias got lost in her thoughts for a moment.

'Wait.. before i went to the bathroom in my apartment, didn't i have this weapon equipped? It seems like this staff was brought to here along with my reincarnation'

While Sylias was holding the staff, she could feel the enormous energy and mana that the staff stored inside, this much amount of power could easily destroy this town if she were to use it recklessly, its aura is spewing to every corner of the room, but thankfully its only visible to those who hold the staff.

Despite the overwhelming energy, Sylias didn't even flinched or react to any of it, she kept her face the same as it is before and thought, 'Amazing, an end-game weapon isn't called end-game for no reason'

'It seems like this body also inherit all of my game character's strength, seeing that im able to endure this aura pressure effortlessly.'

If what Sylias was thinking is true, then that means she might be one of the strongest people that is alive right now, the fact that she was reincarnated as her game character and not a baby shows that there might be something that she doesn't know about this phenomenon, there could be a stronger being than her, a god being that could be the culprit behind her reincarnation.

'...Thinking about nonsense is useless' Sylias shook her head.

'I couldn't tell how strong i am because there are no status window or something similar to that, but im guessing its the same as in Serpent Journey.'

'Right now, i'll leave the room and maybe greet someone on the way, i can asks some information from them.'

Sylias was about to exit the room when she noticed that her magic staff might gather too much attention, since all she was wearing is just a normal clothing with small pouch that had a few coins in it and no large backpack or somekind of a holder at her back, she doesn't have much choice.

'Hmm.. There should be a magic i can use to store things.. Like an inventory, the question is, how do i use it..'

Sylias lifted her left hand and began to imagine what spell she want to use, this was her first guess at using magic, because usually, the simplest thing for activating a magic spell is to imagine it vividly.

'Inven-'

< INVENTORY >

Suddenly a voice was heard, it sounds like an adult woman, and it came straight from Sylias's mind, as if someone was using telepathy to her, once the voice was heard, a magic circle appeared and a hole was opened infront of her, its floating and is similar to what a small portal looks like.

'Do i just need to imagine?.. That is easier than i thought'

'More importantly, what was that voice..'

Sylias wondered for a bit but ultimately just shrugged it off as somekind of an illusion, since she now know how to use magic, it would make things way easier.

She put the staff she was holding inside of the portal infront of her, after that she tries to close it by sliding her hand to the side, similar to when you are trying to answer or decline a phone call.

That was completely a guess since she didn't really know exactly how to exactly close it, but surprisingly her method worked, and the portal closes itself.

'Well. okay..'

Now that the only problem has been solved, Sylias opened the door that was infront of her since a while now and went outside, to the first floor of the inn, where other people will be present, despite her previous life, Sylias didn't feel anything at all when thinking about meeting other people, in the past, she usually avoid any form of interaction from other people outside of the internet, but now in her new world, that feeling of anxiety was gone just like that.

'I feel relaxed, for some reason..'
