Freya's POV
The world was swirling and hazy as I opened my eyes and blinked. My muscles hurt like I had been trampled underfoot by a pack of wolves, and my brain throbbed with pain. I winced as a sharp ache raced through my side as I attempted to sit up.
A voice whispered, "Easy, Freya," and I looked over to see Finnick kneeling next to me. Even though his face was drawn and his eyes were filled with worry, there was something... aloof about them. It was as though a piece of him had already left and was no longer truly present with me.
I tried to talk, but my voice sounded weak because my throat felt dry. "Where am I, exactly?"
He touched my forehead and murmured, "You're safe." "We have been quite concerned about you. You've been absent for some days.
Days? It was unbelievable to me. Was I truly unconscious for so long?
