Freya's POV
The pack's tension was oppressive. I couldn't get rid of the uneasiness that was bothering me after Malin came clean. Lyra was the only one I trusted enough to give me honest advice when I needed it.
I discovered her near the forest's edge, her gaze darting among the trees as though seeking clarification in the darkness. The sound of my footsteps caused her to turn.
"You appear disturbed," she remarked in a composed yet worried tone.
"Because I am," I acknowledged. Malin admitted that Kade had made him spy on us. He says he's now on our side, but I'm not sure if I can believe him.
Lyra scowled, her eyes keen. Freya, it might be risky to trust him. There are repercussions for betrayals like his.
I paced while I said, "I know." However, he insists that he is speaking the truth. He even volunteered to assist us in defeating Kade.
