Chapter 4 - LYING OR BETRAYING

When they all saw the event notification in front of them, some students began to panic, while others were excited; the atmosphere grew thicker around the hotel.

"Musa, how about you join me in this event battle? If you refuse, that's fine, but I think your long-range skills and my close-range abilities would be needed together," said Komeri.

"So think carefully"

Musa hesitated for a moment, unsure if he should trust him or not, but made a decision. "OK, but don't try anything funny," Musa replied, but was nervous.

"Fine, only if you go along with the plan I told you about earlier... Speaking of the devil..." said Komeri as he heard a knock at the door.

He opened it, and there was Tizaku, the school prodigy, amazing everyone with his great mindset. He had dark grey hair, silver eyes, was a bit taller, and had a calm, suspicious face that felt like he was hiding something underneath it, but he still wore the same school uniform.

"Oh hey, Komeri, how are you?" Tizaku asked.

Komeri looked at him calmly, but inside he understood where all this was going. "I am fine... but knowing you, you can't be here just for small talk, and neither can I."

Tizaku grinned. "Sorry, then I will go straight to the point."

While they discussed outside the room in the hallway, Musa inside couldn't hold back the feeling of worry mixed with a pinch of fear of what's about to unfold.

"What I'm saying is, Komeri, what if you join us? Besides, I know you train yourself on a daily basis back when we at our normal lives. We would be happy to have you on my team," Tizaku said.

"You know about that... well, OK, fine, I will join your team," Komeri replied.

"Great"tizaku, clapped both his hands ones for approval.

Sooner or later, for a second, the background changed into an underground hallway with walls where also the students where gatheredall together in an open area. It seemed like the others had the same idea of building an alliances. Tizaku's team approached; it was one male and one female student.

The two looked very serious and had cold gazes like the student council.

"Sorry for the late introduction; these are my assistants, Luke and Yona," Tizaku said.

They both approached and stared at Komeri intensity.Komeri had an awkward moment.

Luke and Yona bowed slightly in silence, with non-emotional faces. Luke had short black hair and brown eyes, which were average, as well as Yona, the female; they seemed to be twins in Komeri's eyes.

"Well, let's move," Tizaku said.

The students began to wander into the dungeon however this type of atmosphere did not stop the students from stealing glances at Komeri with hatred in their eyes and gossiping on how to get rid of him, going into the first layer where they were met with level 1 spider beasts. Of course, they beat them easily since they outnumbered them.

"Looks like it's much easier in a group when we are both level 1 but...

," Komeri thought to himself as they moved to the second layer, where a huge double door stood before them, made of solid rock.

it opens, slowly and causes little vibrations on the ground and surroundings.

Behind it was a large area with a lot of thin, narrow walk paths and deep holes everywhere. Some students just walked back, saying, "I am not taking the risk; I will just level up with the level 1 spiders." It showed that they were terrified of the fall.the high numbered students decreased but some stayed to continue.

"Well, let's go," Komeri said.

Komeri led in front while Tizaku and his assistants followed behind.

"Hmm, I think this is good," Komeri thought. Then, without notice, he looked down one big, deep hole; it was dark.

"So, Tizaku, what do you think? How deep does this go?" Komeri asked.

Without hesitation, Tizaku pushed him into the hole with a grin on his face, while Luke and Yona watched with expressionless faces. "Sorry, Komeri, but I suggest you check for yourself," Tizaku said.

Komeri showed his surprised face to him.

Komeri heard those words before falling deeper into the hole, where the surface became dimmer and smaller by the second. He showed his frightened face to Tizaku before falling deeper, but that was only pretend.

Hurling down to the ground, Komeri's face turned calm and crossed his arms, while the wind hit the base of his skin. Closing in on the end of the fall, Musa was panicking down there, looking up and positioning himself to catch Komeri with his handmade trampoline made of five layers of blankets.

Komeri calmly fell onto it, bounced off, and landed on his two feet with his arms still crossed. Musa clapped after his landing.

"That was amazing, Komeri! How did you know that that the plan involved him?" Musa asked.

"I didn't, but I had a feeling this might happen since almost all the students tried to do the same thing back at school," Komeri replied.

"Really? That's all there is?" said Musa,

"In the beginning, when they first announced the event, there were surely going to be people panicking since it was so sudden, and some were not mentally prepared for it. The solution that they planned was to build an alliance, but I thought they would not choose me; however, I was surprised by Tizaku choosing a person like me."

"But not that much; he made me feel uneasy. Musa had to sneak forward first when the students were preparing. When we were first transported, Musa had managed to find a secret path that led deep into the second layer and waited for me there. This is only by Komeri's speculation, but looking back at Tizaku."

"Sir, is he finally dead?" Luke asked.

"Don't be stupid... he won't die that easily," Tizaku replied, looking back them with a grin, and a blush on his cheeks.

"Are you saying that Tizaku knew the plan?" Musa inquired.

"Yes, but he only realized it when I pretended to look down the hole," Komeri said, looking up,the surface with a serious gaze but a horde of level 2 monsters appeared.

"K-Komeri, I think we have trouble," Musa said, pointing at the monsters. They looked like giant praying mantises with huge fangs.

"Seems like we are going to be here even longer than I thought," Komeri said, calmly looking at the monsters while still crossing his arms.
