Chapter 5 - THE AFTERMATH

The monsters stood ready to make the first move to attack. "W-what are we going to do?" Musa asked.

"We are going to fight them and stay in the second layer," Komeri replied.

Komeri noticed earlier the status square in the top right corner that they was count down of how long the event was going to last; it seemed that they had 20 minutes left.

"I understand, b-but there are too many of them," Musa said. He looked into Komeri's eyes and then at the monsters ahead. "Oh fine, I trust you."He understood Komeri's determination.

"Well, let's begin." Komeri then removed the sickle he had brought from home while he gave Musa his homemade bow and arrows.

The monsters engaged, launching themselves forward with their pincers ready to strike, and Komeri did the same, running forward with the blade in his hands.

"SHOOT!" Saying those words, Musa shot the monster closest to Komeri, and then Komeri delivered the final blow with his blade to the abdomen.

"Great work now continue to do that and we might get a chance to beat all of them"komeri said, using his Impact boost ability to give a hard hit while musa uses his Precision to accurately hit his target perfectly.

The battle strategy involved Musa's long-range archery; he could shoot the monsters from afar, and when they were injured and distracted by the shot, Komeri either stabs or slices them.

"I am not going to lose!!!," said one male student holding a huge hammer he found in the fourth layer.

It seems they are doing well in upgrading themselves. The time limit reached zero, and they were brought back at there rooms in the blink of an eye.

"We are back?" Musa asked.

"Yeah..." Komeri replied.

They both opened their status to check.

"You were right; we increased dramatically," Misa said.

"Yeah, but mine seems like my stamina is the one that skyrocketed further than the others... hmmm, let's try summoning first," Komeri replied to himself.

After a moment, Musa looked at Komeri with a little trust. He thought he could not have grown this much if it weren't for him, but he still stayed cautious.

Komeri looked back at him. "What's wrong?"

Musa yelped and then avoided making eye contact. "N-nothing... don't worry about it."

"I see. OK, then stand back; I'm about to begin," Komeri said.

He focused, and a small talisman rectangular paper appeared on his hand. Stretching his arm upward, he threw it to the ground, where a blue flame formed around him. Closing his eyes, he then opened them slowly, but before he could see the darkness around him, his heart began to burn. He jolted forward out of his collapsed state, covered in sweat and breathing heavily.

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" Musa seemed worried as he approached him.

"Yeah, but I sense the summon was too dangerous." He stood up and then turned his back to Musa. "First, we need to reach level three so we can use these abilities properly."

"What was that earlier,I just sensed a powerful entity telling me he accepts me,in that darkness"komeri thought to himself.

"Then I have a suggestion... How about we join a guild? We could gain experience through fighting," Musa said.

"You sure about this? Did you once game as well?....im impressed." Komeri asked.

"Yeah, you could say that," Musa replied, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly with a blush on his face.

"How about you? Did you gain anything from the event?" Komeri inquired.

"Yes, my precision increased. When I use it, I can see ten times better and further, then when i initially used it" Musa explained.

"Well, that's good. For now, let's get some rest; we have a big day tomorrow," Komeri said.

Komori then saw a countdown. It read, "25 hours left." Komeri knew what it implied, even if it was only a hypothesis.

The mysterious guy the students met earlier stood on top of a church tower, gazing with a smile on his face under the dazzling moonlight shining above.

"Well, it seems that they are adapting well," he said, then he vanished.
