Chapter 11 - ch11

"It feels...it's amazing..."

Lily stared blankly at Diancie, as the information introduced by the Pokédex seemed quite impressive.

What was 'acclaimed as the most beautiful in the world,' and that 'legendary Pokémon'?

This level of admiration felt quite different.

And...

"Why does it have so many moves?"

Ethan was puzzled as he held his Vulpix.

That's strange—my Vulpix only had three unique moves listed in the Pokédex: Tail Whip, Ember, and Disable.

But Diancie's list of moves was outrageous; the introduction just kept going.

Names like Moonblast, Diamond Storm, Ancient Power—they all sounded incredibly powerful.

As someone who enjoys playing games, Ethan understood the importance of "moves." Aren't these like the skills in games?

But why!

Why does Vulpix have only three moves while Diancie's moves overflow?

It feels like Vulpix is a regular creature and Diancie is a mega boss!

Too unfair!

"Have you noticed that Diancie's types are Fairy and Rock? Rock I get, but what is Fairy Type?"

Hannah blinked her big eyes, touching her chin thoughtfully.

Lily and Ethan both looked confused, as they had no idea.

"We should ask the boss later; this... Pokémon? It seems to have a lot of secrets."

Hannah muttered, growing more intrigued.

"Emmm..."

Seeing the three guests whispering among themselves, Diancie turned her attention back to watching her cartoon, observing how the cat couldn't catch the mouse.

If it were her, she would have just crushed the mouse with a big rock.

Before long, Alex walked out of the back room.

Beside him was a small red-skinned lizard walking on two legs—Charmander.

But this Charmander seemed rather shy, clutching Alex's trousers and following closely, curiously and cautiously looking around.

"Is this the Charmander? Wow~ I just realized how cute little lizards can be."

Hannah looked at Charmander in surprise, obviously very pleased with its appearance.

It even felt a bit like a tiny dinosaur.

"It does resemble a Western dragon, but it's smaller and lacks wings."

Ethan looked at Charmander curiously, pushed up his glasses, and compared it to the image of a Western dragon. He was quite impressed.

Wow, this really changed his perspective. Could this red-skinned lizard actually become a dragon when it grows up?

Wait a minute...

Ethan was silent for a while, then looked down at Vulpix in his arms, realizing that the Ninetales fox was also a mythical creature in various legends...

So why doubt the existence of Western dragons?

"Charmander..."

Charmander was startled by the three people's attention and quickly hid behind Alex, peeking out cautiously.

"Don't be afraid, little guy, they won't harm you."

Amused by Charmander's reaction, Alex gently picked it up and spoke warmly.

"This little one is quite shy and timid. You'll need to handle daily interactions with care."

Alex smiled at Hannah, noting that a timid Charizard is quite rare in games.

However, in reality, a Pokémon's personality doesn't significantly affect its growth, although a laid-back personality might mean less enthusiasm for training.

Of course, this affects its strength. Without proper training, how can it become stronger just by loafing around?

"Hmmm! Of course!"

Hannah blinked and looked at Charmander joyfully.

And she noticed Charmander's tail had a small flame at the end, which was quite amazing!

"Charmander, this is your future Trainer, get along well with her."

Alex lowered his head, speaking warmly to Charmander.

Charmander looked up at Hannah with shy curiosity, and his gentle gaze made Hannah's heart melt.

"The boss is right, Charmander, we'll be friends, and I'll take good care of you."

Not entirely sure what Alex meant by Trainer, Hannah took it to mean friend. She smiled cheerfully at Charmander, conveying her kindness to the little creature.

"Charmander~"

Seemingly sensing Hannah's gentleness, Charmander gave a soft, human-like smile and responded sweetly.

"Wow~ so cute, can I hold it, boss?"

"Certainly, just be mindful of the flame on Charmander's tail."

Alex smiled, handing Charmander to Hannah, and reminded her gently.

"It's warm, and not too heavy."

Hannah carefully took Charmander, looking at its smiling face, and couldn't help but nuzzle her cheek against Charmander's head.

Wow! So comfy!

Charmander gently pushed against Hannah's face with its little paw, understanding the affection but finding her forehead a bit hard!

"Be careful, Hannah, you might burn your clothes with that fire."

Lily reminded her friend, amused by Hannah's enthusiasm.

"Boss, doesn't the fire on Charmander's tail ever go out?"

But seeing Hannah so absorbed, Lily rolled her eyes and asked Alex curiously.

And anyway, Charmander seemed quite mysterious with flames on its tail.

"No, the flame on Charmander's tail is inherent. If it goes out, it means the end of its life," Alex explained.

"The fire of life?" Ethan mused.

"Doesn't that mean you have to be careful all the time? What if it falls into water?"

Hannah returned to her senses, frowning with concern.

"It's not that simple. This flame isn't extinguished by water as we traditionally think. It's more like a representation of its will and life."

"If Charmander is strong-willed, even three days of rain won't put out its flame."

"But if it's sick, exhausted, or in low spirits, the flame will dim."

"In such cases, being exposed to heavy rain or falling into water could be dangerous."

Alex explained thoroughly, noting that the flame's endurance is linked to Charmander's physical health and emotions.

"I see," Hannah nodded.

"Of course, avoid submerging it in water, and be cautious during baths."

Alex added that while water doesn't extinguish the flame, it could be uncomfortable for Charmander.

"Don't worry, I'll keep Charmander healthy and happy! It's adorable."

Hannah grinned, hugging Charmander tightly. The more she looked, the cuter it seemed.

Lily and Ethan smiled knowingly, understanding Hannah's excitement.

"It's a joy when a Pokémon is cherished by its Trainer."

"But it seems like you love Charmander, so the price is 250,000 dollars."

Alex smiled with relief, then addressed the business aspect.

"Will that be credit or cash?"
