Jane ends the call with Susan. She drops the phone on her desk and goes through a file in front of her. After few minutes she picks the file in front of her, shifts her chair backward with her butt and stands to leave the office.
She steps out of the elevator and walks into the top floor of the glass skyscraper, The elegant structure of the building was topnotch. The office boasted breathtaking views of the city. The stunning led light installation made the room look magnificent.
The structure of this floor was quite different from every other floor. It uniqueness and outstanding qualities was actually a work of an expert in the field.
The floor designs and elegance indicated that the floor was specially built for a boss.
It was the C.E.O's office. The office was divide into two parts, the secretary's office and the C.E.O's office. With the secretary's office before the C.E.O's office .
Jane walks to the secretary's office, she pauses at the door and knocks. The secretary was staring at the computer system in his front, hearing the knock, he looks up and signals she comes in with his hands.
"Good morning Mr Tony"Jane greets him
"Are you here to drop the file? you can drop it and go" He said while his eyes were still focused on the system.
Jane looks at him with annoyance and drops the file as though she knew how he would response. She waits a while to get his attention.
He noticed she was still standing and turns up to look at her
" How may I help you?"
Jane responded fast
" Susan is absent from work today, she was involved in an accident yesterday and..."
Before she could finish her sentence kelvin walks in the room.
The secretary stood up and greets him
"Good morning sir"
While Jane slightly bows her head down to greet him. He greets back good morning and bows back as he goes to his office.
His secretary sits , while Jane blushes. She was Lost in her own imagination when tony snaps her out of her imagination. She jolts back to reality and takes her leave.
Meanwhile Kelvin had overhead their conversation. He was disturbed, he tried to get his mind off it, but he couldn't.
He was worried and the same time didn't want to bother. But he ended up deciding to just check if she was okay.
He makes enquiries and gets to know her address. He drives off to Susan's apartment, he was about to get to her place, when he realized he hadn't been thinking well.
He thinks aloud
"What was I thinking? Why am I here self? Wouldn't it be suspicious of a C.E.O? And besides I'm just her boss"
He turns the car around as he was about to drive off. He sees Susan entering into a super market and parks his car down.
"Isn't that Susan? I thought she was involved in an accident? But she looks fine to me?" He asks himself and wanted to be sure he wasn't seeing wrong. He gets out of the car and walks into the supermarket, he hid from her.
He saw her and confirmed his doubt. He couldn't believe she was fine and thought she lied to be absent from work.
He felt stupid and he wasn't sure what to do . He decided to leave when he notices that she left the supermarket unable to purchase anything, he grabs a snack and paid for his snacks and her soda and gives the attendant a tip to go give her the soda. He leaves immediately.
PRESENT
Susan turns back to the restaurant to check if she could see the man who had paid for her soda. As she walks back to the supermarket Kelvin's drives off making her miss him. She goes to the supermarket and asks the attendant where she could find the man.
"He left just few minutes ago" the attendant responded.
She goes home curious of the buyer. She opens the door of her house , enters and locks the door.
She goes to the kitchen, brings out two packs of noodles and cooks it. She dishes out the noodles, sits in the sitting room and turn on the TV . She eats the noodles alongside with the soda.
She felt happy with the refreshing taste of the soda and sighs out of refreshment.
She falls asleep not too long.

It's morning in JAH. Susan walks in , she was expecting care and attention but was being ignored , everyone was focused on their phone. She felt invisible and goes straight to her office. She switches on her computer system and sees a message popping up. It's from the company.
She opens the message and saw a message informing everyone of a company's dinner this week Friday to welcome the C.E.O and all staffs are expected to be there.
She sighs, she just escaped death and now a company's dinner.
"Dinner?" She closes her eyes and thinks,
When a knock on her door knocked her out of her thought . She tells the person to come in and it was Jane
She stands and goes to hug her.
"Thank you Jane"
"You're always welcome Susan. How are you doing now?"
"I feel good now thanks to you "
"Oh common, what are we friends for?"
Susan chuckles dryly, she never thought of Jane as a friend, but just a colleague. She's helped Jane out and Jane had also reciprocated several times. But she wasn't intimate or close to her to open up to her. So the word friend felt fake to her. But she ignores it she had something else on her mind.she was about asking Jane about the dinner when Jane spoke her mind.
"Susan I hope you're prepared for the dinner?"
"No, I'm not, not this dinner"
"You've got no choice dear"
The company's dinner had always been a dramatic and suffocating one.
" I haven't recovered from the last dinner, I'm still traumatized"
"It was a night mare to me too" Jane responded in a scary tone
" Not dinner again" Susan speaks in a pleading tone
"Well darling, you have to face your fears" she pats Susan In the arm and gave a confident look
" We can do it, I'll get going now "
Susan was silent as she watched Jane walk out of her office.
She sits on her chair and thinks of what to do.
