Micheal's POV
I woke up to the ringing of machines beside me. My head throbbed far more than an ordinary headache. I tried to lift my head first from the softness of something, but as I tried that, I was hit with a wave of dizziness that sent me back into bed. The weight on my skull felt like it was going to crack my neck in two.
"Damn!" I cursed silently. My hands trembled as I reached for my head. It was heavily bandaged. The fading scent of antiseptic made me know I wasn't in my room or anywhere else, I was at the hospital.
The room was well lit. The kind of light seeping into the clean room was that kind of light that told you it was early morning but wasn't kind enough to make you feel like the day had started.
