Chapter 7 - CHAPTER SEVEN: “THIS IS NOT THE AGREEMENT”( BELLA )

I was back at the Elegant wears make up booth the next day, and just like Rosa had promised

I was given the free make up session not excluding manicure and pedicure treatments. I was finally dressed up and ready for the event but I had to take a good look at myself in the mirror again.

I had never seen myself like this I would have doubted the girl staring back at me was me but ….it was.

I guess I have never had this time to give my self this treatment before. If only Ryan knew what he had lost leaving me.

Such a fool.

"Okay mam that would be all what do you think do you lie it?"

One of the girls who helped me get prepared, asked patting my well prepped hair. I just nodded with a smile. "Oh by the way you better get going you said the event was starting. By seven?"

"Yes that's true" I said as I got up on keep feet way taller thanks to the heels I had on. I Felt really important in the stunning outfit.

"Then you better get going then".They all helped me with my things as I stepped down stairs with some girls behind me as they escorted me towards the back exit.

"Oh my goodness you look stunning Rosa exclaimed covering her mouth, immediately she saw me. I felt slith on the side was a little bit too high but I guessed it was just my point of view. They all complemented me and prided my beauty

I felt like a queen.

I didn't get to take a cab after looking so beautiful all thanks to Rosa who offered me a ride in her venza Well I couldn't refuse I just didn't think it was cool looking this demure and taking public transport.

As Rosa pulled up to the grand entrance, I gazed up at the towering skyscraper, its sleek glass and steel façade glinting in the evening light. It was really magnificent I've never had the chance to be this close to it. It was indeed a sight to leave one staring for some seconds.

I took a deep breath, feeling a mix of high expectations excitement and nerves. The building's imposing structure seemed to hum with luxury as expected its peak lost in the night sky. About a hundred and ten stories high, and the event was nestled on the 25th floor – the epicenter of high society.

It was even taller than i imagined.

As I stepped out of the car, the cool evening air carried the distant hum of chatter and music.

I watched as other ladies arrived, alighting from limousines, Rolls Royces, and sleek sports cars and even vintages worth billions if I weren't wrong. Women of refinement and elegance, each one a vision of poise and sophistication in their own way

With a subtle nod, Rosa handed me a delicate clutch. "You look stunning."

I smiled, shouldering the clutch. With a deep breath, I gave her one more last hug and joined the flow of elegant women streaming into the building.

The soft rustle of designer gowns, the flash of diamonds, and the whispered conversations filled the air.

Well I was already intimidated by the cost and beauty of what these women wore. They literally had gold and diamonds on them. Some even cataracts. But I.. I just had a slim necklace hanging on my neck definitely not gold even if it seemed like it and a few bracelets on my wrists.

This really killed the confident feeling I had about my outfit fueling only my mission here.

As I entered the lobby, marble floors gleamed beneath my heels. The elevator, a sleek, silver bullet, whisked me upward. Floor numbers ticked by – 10, 15, 20 – until finally, the doors slid open on the 25th floor.

The ballroom unfolded before me, : crystal chandeliers, champagne toasts, and the cream of society came to view immediately I stepped in. I took a final, steadying breath and stepped into the whirlwind of luxury and intrigue.

"Wow"

My gaze swept across the huge room, taking in the opulent decorations and the sea of elegant guests. The stage caught my attention first, elegantly set with a live band that seemed to be waiting for their cue.

Waiters glided effortlessly through the crowd, offering champagne and canapés on silver trays. I accepted a glass of champagne. Finally having to experience it just like in the movies.

As I sipped, my eyes roamed the room. Socialites gathered near the bar, laughing and clinking glasses. Diamonds flashed on perfectly manicured hands, and designer gowns shimmered under the chandeliers' light.

This was a different world entirely. This was luxury. This was wealth.

Finally, a voice spoke up, stealing everyone's attention. "Good evening, ladies," he said with a surprisingly calm and soothing tone. "I'm sure we all know why we're here." He was a tall, handsome man in a white designer suit and perfectly styled dark hair couldn't tell enough of his facials. I was far behind at the moment.

"Well, I must say from what I see up here that you are all looking like the queens you are." Applauds filled the air immediately. For a moment, I wondered how the person choosing was going to make a selection from over 60 women in the hall. Just then, the man on stage surprised me with his words.

"Well, ladies, we all know how this goes.

"No I don't".

"Only one lady gets to be the chosen one tonight and gets to spend the rest of her night with the owner of this event, a very good friend and definitely any woman's dream. And also win the price of a hundred thousand dollars".

Another soft applaud filled the air.

Coming to think of it I don't know what ladies wearing over a fortune on their wrists and hands and neck would participate for a $100,000 price I thought taking a look at a few of them.

"But as much as he wants you all, he's just made a decision now that will break a lot of your hearts". The handsome man on the stage continued. "Unfortunately, it has to be what it has to be; it's his event and it's what he wants."

A heavy silence filled the hall.

A set of women will be leaving now if you don't fit the descriptions I'm about to mention." He paused as a bodyguard stepped up and handed him a paper.

A heavy silence followed suit.

"What the fuck? You have to be kidding me," I muttered. "If they wanted to make choices about the type of women he wanted, why didn't they just make it known on the application site?" My heart began pounding fast. This wasn't on the site this is not the agreement.
