Chapter 11 - Engagement

The week flew by in a blur of preparations and anticipation. Finally, the day of the engagement arrived. The ceremony was set to take place in Jaipur, and only close relatives were invited. The excitement and joy were palpable as everyone got ready for the big event.

Ananya sat in her room, her heart pounding with nervousness. She wore a breathtakingly beautiful lehenga, adorned with intricate embroidery and shimmering sequins. Her bhabhi, Priya, and her best friend, Riya, were by her side, trying to calm her down.

"Ananya, you look so beautiful," Priya said, adjusting the dupatta on Ananya's head. "Sab kuch theek hoga, don't worry."

Riya nodded, giving Ananya a reassuring smile. "Haan, Priya sahi keh rahi hai. Tum itni nervous kyun ho rahi ho?"

Ananya took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. "Bas... sab kuch itna jaldi ho raha hai. I can't help but feel nervous."

Priya squeezed her hand. "Woh sab theek hai, but remember, Devyansh loves you. Aur yeh sab kuch tum dono ke liye hai."

Ananya nodded, feeling a bit more reassured. "Haan, tum dono sahi keh rahe ho. I just need to calm down."

Meanwhile, in another part of the palace, Devyansh stood at the stage, looking dashing in his suit. His mind was filled with thoughts of Ananya, and he couldn't wait to see her. He adjusted his cufflinks, his eyes scanning the crowd for any sign of her.

Rajveer Chauhan, Devyansh's father, walked up to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Beta, sab kuch theek hai?"

Devansh nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Haan, Papa. Bas Ananya ko dekhne ka intezaar hai."

Rajveer smiled, giving his son a proud look. "Woh bhi abhi aa hi jaayegi. Tum dono ke liye yeh din bahut khaas hai."

As the music started playing, signaling that the ceremony was about to begin, Ananya took one last deep breath and stood up. Priya and Riya gave her encouraging smiles, and she made her way towards the stage.

As she entered the hall, all eyes turned to her. She felt a mix of excitement and nervousness, but the sight of Devyansh standing at the stage, his eyes locked onto hers, made her feel at ease. He looked at her with so much love and admiration that all her doubts melted away.

Devansh couldn't take his eyes off her. "Aap bohot khoobsurat lag rahi ho, Ananya," he whispered as she reached the stage.

Ananya blushed, her heart racing. "Thank you, Devyansh. Aap bhi bohot acche lag rahe ho."

The ceremony began, and the priest started chanting the mantras. As they exchanged rings, Devyansh held Ananya's hand, looking into her eyes with a promise of a beautiful future together.

"Aaj se humari nayi zindagi shuru ho rahi hai," Devyansh said softly, slipping the ring onto her finger.

Ananya smiled, her eyes glistening with happy tears. "Haan, aur hum is nayi shuruaat ke liye tayaar hai."

The hall erupted in applause as the couple completed the engagement rituals. Their families and friends gathered around, congratulating them and showering them with blessings.

Rajveer raised a toast, his voice filled with pride. "Aaj hamare dono bachon ki engagement hai, aur main is din ko yaadgaar banane ke liye sabka shukriya ada karta hoon. Ananya aur Devyansh, tum dono ko bohot bohot mubarak ho."

As the evening went on, Devyansh and Ananya found themselves surrounded by loved ones, sharing laughter and joy. But amidst all the celebrations, they kept stealing glances at each other, their hearts filled with happiness and anticipation for the future. The evening flowed into a grand din where everyoneenjoyed delicious food and lively conversations.

After dinner, Devyansh couldn't take his eyes off Ananya. She looked breathtakingly beautiful, and he was overwhelmed with the urge to spend some time alone with her.

"Ananya," he said softly, pulling her aside, "Humai apsai kuch baat karni hai. mere saath aiya."

Ananya glanced around nervously. "Par sab log yahaan hain. What will they think?"

Devansh's eyes darkened with determination. "Don't worry about that. Just come with me."

Before she could protest, he took her hand and led her down the hallway of the hotel. They found an empty room, and as soon as they stepped inside, Devyansh closed the door behind them. Ananya found herself pressed against the door, her heart racing.

Devansh's eyes were filled with a hunger she had never seen before. He leaned in and kissed her hungrily, unable to control his desire any longer. Ananya's eyes widened in - surprise, her body stiffening as she experienced her first kiss. His lips moved against hers with urgency, and slowly, she found herself melting into the kiss.

Her hands instinctively moved to his neck and tangled in his hair.

Devyansh smiled against her lips, feeling her respond to him. He deepened the kiss, his hands roaming her back as he pulled her closer.

Just as the kiss grew more passionate, there was a knock on the door. Devyansh's brother, Aditya, called out, "Bhaiya, sab aap logon ko dhoondh rahe hain. You should come back."

Devansh pulled away reluctantly, his breath heavy. He looked at Ananya, her cheeks flushed and her lips slightly swollen. She shyly cleared the smudged lipstick from his lips.

"Aap to abhi sa itna sharma rhi hai" Devyansh said with smirk. "aisa kaisa chala ga meri jaan"

When she listen him saying jaan her breath become fast and she stare in his eyes only to find him already looking at her with love.

She become so shy that she hug him tightly and her face in his neck breathing heavily. He smile at that how she become so shy and he love her that he had his effect on her.

"Chalo," Devyansh said, his voice low and husky. "Let's go back."

Ananya nodded, her heart still pounding from the intensity of the moment. She opened the door and stepped out, with Devyansh following close behind. They exchanged a final glance, filled with unspoken emotions, before joining their families.

As they returned to the gathering, Ananya's cheeks remained flushed, and she avoided meeting Devyansh's gaze. The rest of the evening went smoothly, with the families sharing more laughter and stories.

The next morning, it was time for Ananya and her family to return to Raigarh. They bird farewell to theChauhan family, with promises of meeting soon for the wedding preparations. Devyansh's eyes followed Ananya as she walked towards their car, a mixture of longing and determination in his gaze.

"Bye, Devyansh, Ananya said softly, her voice tinged with emotion.

"Bye, Ananya," Devyansh replied, his voice equally soft. "I'll see you soon."

As Ananya's car drove away, Devyansh stood there, watching until it disappeared from sight. He couldn't wait for the day when they would be together forever, and the thought filled him with a sense of anticipation

and excitement.

Ananya, on the other hand, sat in the car, her mind replaying the events of the previous night. Her lips still tingled from the intensity of their kiss, and she couldn't help but smile at the memory. The journey back to Raigarh was filled with thoughts of Devyansh and the life they were about to embark on together.
