Chapter 4 - A royal encounter

Ananya, the sweet and shy princess of Raigarh, had always found comfort in the serenity of her palace.

Her parents, the king and queen, cherished her deeply and wanted her to experience life beyond the palace walls.

Recently, she had attended her cousin's wedding, an event that had filled her with new memories and a sense of adventure. It was at another grand royal gathering that Ananya's life was about to change in ways she could never have imagined.

This gathering was a prestigious event, drawing royalty from across the land. The atmosphere was lively, filled with laughter, music, and the hum of conversations. Ananya, dressed in an elegant pink lehenga that accentuated her grace and beauty, moved through the crowd with her usual shy demeanor, smiling politely and engaging in soft conversations.

Devansh, the king of Jodhpur and a renowned CEO, was also present. Known for his cold personality and frequent bouts of anger, Devansh was a man of few friends and fewer smiles.

His powerful presence often intimidated those around him, and he was not one to enjoy such social gatherings.

However, he had come because is friend had specialy asked him to come to the wedding, and it was this friend he was waiting for when fate intervened.

As Devansh stood near the entrance, he received an important phone call. The urgency in his assistant's voice made him step outside to take the call in peace.

As he was about to exit, Ananya, lost in her thoughts and the beauty of the evening, accidentally bumped into him. The impact caught her off guard, and she began to fall.

Without a second thought, Devansh's strong arm shot out, catching Ananya and preventing her from hitting the ground. His hand, firm and warm, rested on her waist, steadying her.

For a moment, everything seemed to freeze. Ananya looked up, her wide eyes meeting Devansh's intense gaze. There was a silent exchange between them, a connection that neither had expected.

Ananya's heart raced, and her cheeks flushed a delicate pink. She had never been this close to anyone, let alone a stranger with such a powerful presence.

"Could you let me go, please?" she asked softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

Devansh, equally affected by the encounter, gently released her. "Of course," he replied, his usual stern voice surprisingly soft. As Ananya quickly walked away, trying to compose herself, Devansh found himself rooted to the spot, watching her retreating figure.

Just then, his friend arrived, noticing the unusual expression on Devansh's face. "What happened?" his friend asked, curious.

Devansh shook his head, saying nothing. He couldn't explain the strange feelings swirling within him. Instead, he walked to the bar counter and ordered a drink, hoping to calm his racing thoughts.

As he sipped his drink, his eyes involuntarily sought out Ananya. He watched her from across the room, captivated by her every move. She mingled gracefully, her shy smiles and gentle demeanor drawing people to her.

Devansh couldn't understand why he was so drawn to her. He had always prided himself on his control and composure, yet this chance encounter had left him feeling vulnerable and exposed.

As the evening progressed, his thoughts remained fixed on Ananya. The more he watched her, the more he found himself enchanted by her presence.

Ananya, unaware of the intense gaze following her, tried to enjoy the gathering. She spoke with other guests, laughed at jokes, and even danced a little.

However, she couldn't shake the memory of her encounter with the stranger who had saved her from falling. His intense eyes and firm grip had left a lasting impression on her, one that she couldn't easily forget.

Devansh's friend noticed his distraction and followed his gaze to Ananya. "She's beautiful, isn't she?" his friend commented, a knowing smile on his face.

Devansh didn't respond, but his silence spoke volumes. He continued to watch Ananya, feeling a strange mix of emotions. He was used to getting what he wanted, whether in business or in life, but this was different. There was something about Ananya that made him want to know her, to understand her.

As the night wore on, Devansh's obsession with Ananya grew. He found himself drawn to her in a way he had never experienced before. Her shy smiles, the way she gracefully moved through the crowd, and her gentle laughter captivated him. He knew he had to find a way to talk to her again, to bridge the gap between them.

Meanwhile, Ananya's mind kept drifting back to Devansh. She wondered who he was and why their brief encounter had affected her so deeply. She had always been cautious around strangers, but there was something about him that intrigued her.

She couldn't help but steal glances in his direction, only to find him watching her with an intensity that made her heart skip a beat.

As the gathering came to an end, Ananya's parents approached her, ready to leave. She glanced one last time at Devansh, their eyes meeting across the room. There was a silent promise in that gaze, a sense that this was only the beginning of their story.

Devansh watched her leave, a sense of urgency building within him. He couldn't let her slip away without knowing more about her.

He needed to see her again, to talk to her, to understand why she had such a profound effect on him. As the guests began to disperse, Devansh made a decision. He would find a way to meet Ananya again, no matter what it took.
