Chereads / Regeneration System / Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Accepting Reality.

Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Accepting Reality.

The people walking by didn't even spare him a second.

Kain is certain that if this is all just in his head, then why is he feeling pain? It doesn't make sense. One second he is getting rushed to the OR, the next he is in a dirty alley.

Kain looks around and sees that he is wearing rags. He notices that his hands and feet are not his. He panics and tries to stand up, but gets lightheaded and collapses back on to a knee.

The host is extremely emaciated. He must eat something.

He looked closer at himself and saw that he was extremely malnourished. He should have already dropped dead.

System, if this is real, get me a cheeseburger.

Host, You're not very bright.

I am waking up in strange places looking like someone else. I am not OK with this and I don't understand what is happening.

The host is advised to suck it up.

Fuck you.

Why am I even here?

The Host lived a life filled with the desire to have been born into another world. Well, you have received that wish.

How do you know that? Wait, if this is a system like I have read about, then it knows everything about me. But this can still all be in my head. The burning pain in my stomach makes me think differently.

OK, let's try something. If this is real, then if I punch this wall, I should either feel pain or nothing at all. That will tell me more.

Host, if you're already in pain, why would you inflict more pain on yourself just to see if you'll feel pain?

"Shut up. I need to test this."

Kain threw a straight jab at the wall, which wasn't pretty. He stuck the wall with a dull thud, not even knocking the dust off the wall. From the texture, he could guess it was bricks that cut his knuckles up, causing him to bleed.

"Kain, that hurts."

"Yeah, that's what happened when someone extremely weak hits a hard surface."

Ok maybe this isn't in my head and this is real,Kain says while getting excited .

"This isn't a fantasy. It's real," Kain declares, his excitement evident.

System, I want to know your capabilities. I'm going to create a main character that will be so powerful, they'll be the most attractive person in the game.

The System can do many things for the Host.

The System's main purpose is to experiment with you. We want to see what would happen if we took a weak creature such as yourself from another world and put him in this world with many paths to choose from.

I am not weak.

Look at your hand. I can give you many abilities, but you'll have to work for most of them. That's all I have to say on the matter for now.

Right, so I'm a statue or something.

Name: Kain

Race: Human

Age: 14

Strength: 1

Defense: 3

Stamina: 1

Agility: 3

Dexterity: 3

Intelligence: 5

Carisma: 1

Perception: 1

Abilities:

Regeneration 1%, Running: level 4, pain tolerance: level 2, sleight of hand level 3

I want to know what this means.

A standard human from your world would be a 5 in each category.

I am weak. You should have put me in the body of someone stronger. And why am I younger?

This body meets the conditions.

I want to know what conditions you're talking about.

Recently deceased with closest to the stats you would have had.

I was stronger in my other life. I was at least average.

Host: I know everything about you.

Alright, fine. What about these skills?

Regeneration;

Boosts your rate of healing by the percentage achieved

Running;

How good you are at running, Improves your coordination as well as your speed. +2 dex and +2 agility when running. +1dex and +1 agility for each level

Pain tolerance:

The ability to feel less pain. 2% less pain received.

Sleight of Hand

The ability to stealthy make hand movements whether it be counseling something or moving something. Dex +1 for each 2 levels

Everything seems good except the regeneration is pointless. 1% faster healing is nothing.

I need to figure out where I am and what I am supposed to do now because I can hardly move. I know this is Fort Hope, but that's all I know.

Kain Starts to leave the alley using the wall as support it takes him way longer than it should have to walk no more the 20 feet. when he finally got out of the alley the sun shone in his eye making Kain cover his eye while they adjusted to the light. Kain takes a look around, noting that every other person around him is just slightly better off than he is. The houses are made of a combination of mud and straw, with roofs that are held together by whatever they can find. Many of the houses are collapsed, and not a single one was constructed with the skill of a true artisan. Then again, Kain thought to himself, I wouldnt do much better myself.
