MEGAN'S POV
"I wish I had a time machine, I would change
things that happened last two weeks between me and my parents. I'm the only daughter and their only child they have but I think they are being so strict with me and it's kinda weird and boring." My name is Megan Jones, I just turned eighteen years old this year. I'm soon graduating from Yale University this year. I'm studying my last semester. I have been upset with my parents since the last summer holiday because they plan to get me a tutor. They always say that I'm bad at economics. I would always reply that, "economics is boring and tiresome because it involves a lot of calculations." I have been on a sliver spoon since I was little. I don't even take a guess of wwhatever I become in future. But for real I do love my parents so much. It's not that I want to disappoint them. Since I love my parents and I don't want to disappoint them, I will just do as they wish because they are my family and my parents.
It was Saturday morning. I was taking my nap because I always had plans with my best friend Mia on every Saturday. You know kids that were born in luxury always think of having fun and spending that stupid money. It wasn't necessary for me to wake up early on weekends. I used to not even set alarms. For what reason? Saturday was the best day that I would always enjoy in my whole life. Going shopping with my best friend Mia was always awesome. But this Saturday was different. As I was busy taking my nap, I heard a loud voice calling me. I just woke up because the loud voice that had called me. I was in my pyjamas and I opened the door of room. Suddenly it was my mom who was was calling me while shouting. "You didn't need to shout out with that loud voice mom." I said while yawning. "Oh, sweet heart ! What did you expect me to do?" My mom replied. "By the way mom, why did you wake me up this early morning on Saturday? You know that I always have plans on every Saturday. What is the reason Mommy?" I asked trying to sound curious. "Hmm baby, you are actually going to be having tutoring sessions on every Saturday. Remember we discussed it. Don't say anything, just follow your mom's command." My mom replied.
"Mommy, I know that I act childish but I'm your most beautiful, cutest and humble daughter you have. Why are you punishing me? Why does it have to be Saturday?" I asked." I told you not to ask me any question. Just follow what I ask you to do. And if you have plans with Mia, just call her and tell her that you have cancelled your plans and tell her the truth only. OK!" My mom added. "Whatever you wish and say will be granted my beautiful mom. So Mommy, can I go back and sleep for only ten minutes please." I said as I was begging. "You are beautiful but you are becoming more dumb!" My mom shouted. "Megan dear, go and take a shower after taking a shower, wear nice clothes and gather your economic books in your bag and wait for your tutor to come. OK Megan!" My mom added with a calm voice.
I never knew that my becomes crazier when it comes to studies. I had to do what my asked me to do. I called Mia on the phone and explained everything to her although she was a bit upset but not more than me. I was busy with my phone waiting for that damn tutor. My mom called me out of my room. "Megan dear, come out they have arrived." said my Mom. I came out of my room and see what my mom had called me to see. "Mom, who are all those people?" I asked. "Megan my dear, these are you tutors. I brought all these tutors for your interview. You have to choose only one best tutor from these ten tutors."said my mom. "Mom are you serious about this?" I asked. "Of course I am, Megan." My mom replied. "Mom seriously, take a look at these tutors you brought. They are all old. Not only being old but one of them looks weird as if he needs a psychiatrist." I said trying to sound serious. "I know you are going to say that I don't listen to you so let me sit down and you have to also attend when I'm interviewing them. I don't want you to misunderstand me Mom." I said. I started by asking them their names. They all mentioned well their names.
I asked another question. Each of them had to answer on their own." Are you experienced in Economics?" I asked one of them. "I...I...I don't know if I have that much experience but I will try if I teach you." He replied while stammering. "Just leave the house." I said. "OK, Madam Jones." He replied. "You see mom, I told you that he is weird." I said. "OK, next." said my mom. "I'm sorry I'm scared of the crowd." The second tutor replied. She had to get out of the house. We interviewed the last eight tutors but they were all the same. I had to listen to my Mom's last opinion.
"Mom they were all weird. I think let's deal with this tutoring thing next time. You can leave the tutoring. I will take Art anyway. It doesn't need tutors." I ventured. "You have won today but next Saturday, I don't think that you young lady will be at ease." My replied. "Mom I cancelled my plans with Mia. I think she's having fun out there." I said with a sad face. "Don't worry I can call my last tutor to come and have lessons with you." My mom suggested. "Why do you always change yourself mommy? OK call those tutors." I said as I was sobbing. "Megan, you don't need to cry. This is your future you are playing with dear. Let me call him." My mom insisted. I went in my room and locked it.
Suddenly the bell rang and my had to open it. "Hey Megan baby come out, your tutor has come." I came out of the room. I walked down stairs to see which tutor had arrived. When I reached down stairs, my eyes landed on a handsome, tall boy whom I think had maybe finished his studies. Indeed he was very handsome with a smile that he showed to me. I looked at him from a far. Megan come and interview your tutor. said my mom. I sat down on my chair. I didn't even look at him because I was very afraid to ask a handsome guy like him. Who even looked to be intelligent. "Hey Megan, I'm Harris Martins your tutor. You can call me Harris. I'm good at economics and I have experience in it." said Harris. "You have passed the interview." I replied. I ran back shyly in my room. "Why has she run back to her room? Have I scared her?" asked Harris. "She has accepted you to be her tutor. You can have lessons with her on the next Saturday. Ok you can go ahead Harris." My mom replied. I didn't run back into my room, I was at the stairs peeping my mom and Harris as I was listening to their conversation. I went at the balcony outside my room to see Harris as he was heading back. I looked at him as he was going back but he didn't look back at me. Maybe he never knew that I was around.
