Everyone was stunned quiet, craning their necks to see who the intruder was. In the door way stood a handsome blue-haired young man. Diane exhaled a breath of relief. But what could he do now? The bastard was too late! "Diego Raymond." George Lewis began. "I don't remember inviting you to the engagement, leaving out the fact of how you crudelly burst into the room just now. " He said quizzically. "Oh, my deepest apologies, lord Lewis." He said. "But I came here to rescue a little bird of mine that was 'trapped' in your mansion. So I am afraid that this engagement can't hold." He said, looking at Diane. Diane immediately turned pale, while screaming Inwardly. "What does this bastard think he is doing?! Isn't there a proper way of doing things?!" "Who do you think you are to cancel the engagement just like that?!" This time it was Cole Kant's father that spoke up. Diego just smirked and pointed at Cole. "You there, get up." He stated. "Why should I get up? I am the groom and she is my soon-to-be-wife. Just because your family is more prestigious than mine doesn't mean that.. ARGH!" Crash. While Cole was still speaking, Diego simply dragged him from the couch and flung him away mercilessly, making him land face first on the ground. Diane clapped her arms to her mouth in shock, looking at the man who had taken cole's place and sitted himself comfortably next to her. "Cole!" Cole's mother cried out immediately rushing over to her son. "What is the meaning of this?!" Her brother growled. "Guards!" But the guards never showed up. "Oh, I am afraid they won't come anytime soon, let them sleep some more." Diego stated with a smirk. "Besides.." He continued, dragging Diane so close to him that there was barely any space between them. "My lover here needs my help." Diane's face blushed hot. Who the heck was his lover? What was wrong with this man? "That is not possible." Sylvetser, who was quiet most of the time suddenly spoke. "I doubt if Sister had ever seen you in her entire life." He said. "How can you be so sure about that?" Diego arched his brows. "How are you so sure that everytime she sneaked out of the mansion it wasn't to see me?" He said. "Besides, how are you so sure that the time I brought her home unconscious that I didn't do anything to her? Does your family trust me so much? I am honored " He said, showing off his white teeth. The guests were perplexed. Diane wished that she could die and get ot over with. This man was obviously slandering the litte reputation that she had! Of course nothing happened between them that day!
George's face turned dark. Dennis was seething in anger. Sylvester only displayed a confused expression. Morris could only turn his head this way and that, not having the faintest clue of what was happening. "Has your daughter been having an affair with this man?" Cole's father slowly asked George. "Whether she has an affair with me or not, it is none of your business." Diego said coldly. "In a society where men acts like disgusting pedophiles, why can't women run amok too?" He questioned. "You. Are. Not. Helping." Diane said through gritted teeth. All of a sudden and without warning, Dennis suddenly strode over and grabbed Diane up. "You.." He began, the anger imminent in his eyes. "Tell me what happened between the both of you that day, and tell me the truth." The pain was excruciating. Tears brimmed out of her eyes. But slowly the tears turned Into anger. "Ha." She scorned, forcefully breaking away from his grip. "If I say nothing happened, will you believe me?" She asked. "Of course not." Dennis said without batting an eyelid. "Exactly as I thought." She said, returning to sit at Diego's side. "Let your imagination run wild." She continued, not letting him enter her line of sight again. Diego must have sensed her odd behavior, for he turned to gaze at her, but immediately snapped out of it when the guests were about to leave. "And who told you to leave?" Came Diego's deep voice. The guests immediately halted in their tracks. "You came to see an engagement, so I will give you an engagement. Get the rings." He said, turning to Dorothy. Dorothy fled as quick as a lightening bolt, and came back with the rings and wedding certificate. Diane was worried that the ring may not fit as they exchanged rings, but it turned out the golden rings fitted him more than he it did with Cole. Hers was had a flower embedded in the middle, while his had stars engraved on the insides. Diego signed the document without any hesitation. When it got to Diane's turn, however.: "If you dare to sign the documents, you are cutting all ties with this family." Came her brother's cold and hard voice. Diane ignored him and even signed it hurriedly. Diego beamed at her. "Let's go." Before turning to the guests. "Thank you for being a part of this memorable moment." One by one the guests began to leave. Dennis crashed a vase before turning angrily upstairs, while Beatrice chased after him hotly. "Dorothy, get your things, Alice things and Morris's things. A separate carraige will come for you." Diane spoke lifelessly. Dorothy stood there In a daze. "Did you not hear what she said?" Diego inquired noticing her there. Dorothy immediately fled up the flight of stairs. "Why are you taking morris?" Sylvester suddenly inquired. Diane turned to look at him. "Both you and I know that he is safer with me. I don't what him to get neglected by his 'family'. Diane said. She said 'family' in a sarcastic tone. "He won't get neglected.." Sylvester began, but George cut him off rudely. "Good riddance." He said. "I don't want a defective son." Diane scorned Inwardly at that. "Morris, come here." She said. Morris immediately shrugged Sylvester off and ran to her. She picked him up In her arms. "What are you doing? Let's go." She said to Diego who seemed in a trance. "Okay." He said, trailing behind her like a loyal dog, while she left without so much as sparing another glance at the place where she was born and grew up in.
