The Nimbus 2000
Harry and Ron hurried back to the dormitory to hide the Nimbus 2000.
Throughout the day, Harry's mind seemed to be with the Nimbus 2000 back in the dormitory. He didn't pay attention to any of his lessons. It wasn't until 7:00 PM that he couldn't wait any longer and ran to the Quidditch field to try it out.
Meanwhile, Lynn had something else on his mind.
Last year, Professor Green had given him a long list of books as supplementary material to study alchemy for the next three or four years. Although Lynn's alchemy skills were already quite advanced, these books could still help him improve his knowledge and techniques.
However, there was a problem. Most of the books on the second half of the list were stored in the restricted section of the library. After Professor Green left Hogwarts, the signature note he gave Lynn was naturally lost, rendering it useless. This meant Lynn couldn't use it to access the restricted section as before.
Lynn had considered asking Professor Snape or other professors for permission to borrow books from the restricted section, but none of them would do so just because Lynn wanted to study alchemy, which was only available to sixth-year students. These books were placed in the restricted area because they contained advanced, and often dangerous, knowledge.
So, Lynn had no choice but to go out at night after curfew, using the Disillusionment Charm Professor Green had taught him to make himself invisible, and sneak into the restricted section of the library to look for the books on the list.
Since the library was protected by warning magic, even with the Disillusionment Charm, Lynn could only hide in the restricted section and read books, or bring his own notebook and copy them. If he tried to remove the books from the restricted section, the library's warning magic would be triggered, and he would be discovered, even if he used the Double Copy Spell to transcribe the books.
For the following week, Lynn not only had to refine an alchemical circle every night but also sneak into the restricted section to search for books.
Soon, the weekend arrived, and Lynn completed the Desert Eagle Enchantment and copied a complete alchemy book from the restricted section of the library.
Of course, Lynn didn't copy the book for nothing. He could use the various alchemical runes and the schematic diagram of the alchemical circle recorded in the book to enchant the bullets of the Desert Eagle.
Yes, Lynn's plan before Halloween was to enchant the 100 bullets that came with the Desert Eagle.
Under normal circumstances, enchanting 100 bullets in less than two months would be unrealistic. However, the size of the bullets was small, and he couldn't use too complex alchemical circles on them. Given Lynn's speed at engraving, it would naturally be much faster for him.
However, engraving an alchemical circle onto such a small object was difficult, and it would test Lynn's energy reserves.
Meanwhile, in the two months leading up to Halloween, Irina had begun exploring how to cast the Freezing Charm without a wand through silent spell-casting.
Casting spells without a wand wasn't easy, and after two months of trying, Irina hadn't been successful. But she had made some progress with the Freezing Charm. At least she could condense a small piece of ice, which she could then transform into daggers or other forms, allowing her to defend herself even without a wand.
Halloween was approaching.
On Halloween, the entire Hogwarts Castle was filled with the sweet and tempting smell of roasted pumpkins.
In the first-year Charms class, Professor Flitwick announced that he would teach everyone how to cast the Levitation Charm, except for students like Irina, Hermione, and Malfoy, who were either gifted or had already learned the spell on their own. They had mastered the Levitation Charm long ago.
Professor Flitwick divided the students into two groups. Harry's partner was Seamus, the explosive genius, and Ron's partner was Hermione. When Professor Flitwick demonstrated the Levitation Charm, Hermione levitated the feather with a silent Levitation Charm, earning praise and extra points from him, along with the privilege of not needing to practice.
"Go, Hermione!" Irina cheered as she snacked.
However, judging by Hermione's ability to cast the Levitation Charm in the Trophy Room that day, it seemed she didn't need Irina's support at all.
For the little genius wizards, casting the Levitation Charm only required them to wave their wands and focus their minds. But for ordinary students, they had to strictly follow the requirements—wave and sway their wands, recite the incantation precisely—and only then could they levitate objects.
Obviously, Ron was no genius wizard.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" Ron shouted, waving his wand as if he were swinging a large hammer to strike someone.
Irina couldn't help but feel embarrassed at Ron's exaggerated movements.
"You said it wrong!" Hermione said bluntly. "It's 'Wing-gar-dium Lev-i-o-sa,' not 'Wingardium Leviosa.' The 'o' must be pronounced clearly!"
Ron's face darkened. His fragile self-esteem didn't allow others to teach him. He roared, "If you're so good, why don't you try it yourself?"
"Ay…" Irina swallowed the snack in her mouth. "Ron seems to have forgotten that it was Hermione who defeated Malfoy with the Levitation Charm."
Hearing this, Ron was stunned.
Hermione waved her wand again, "Wingardium Leviosa!"
Not only the feathers in front of Hermione, but even the table next to them floated at her command.
Hermione's perfect Levitation Charm naturally earned praise from Professor Flitwick.
After class, Ron's mood was terrible. He felt his self-esteem had been crushed. He grumbled irritably to Harry, who was sitting next to him, "No wonder everyone can't stand her. Honestly, she's too nosy. Like a nightmare!"
At that moment, Ron felt someone tap his shoulder. The person didn't look back after hitting him, but hurried toward him.
Ron turned and saw that it was Hermione, who appeared to be crying.
Suddenly, Ron seemed to receive a strong blow to his head.
It was Irina!
"Ron, you really went too far! Hermione was kindly teaching you, hoping you could learn the Levitation Charm and become stronger, but what were you thinking? Do you think she was mocking you? Do you think you're worthless? Ron, set aside your fragile pride. You're the one who gave yourself this face, not others!"
Irina scolded Ron. As Hermione's best friend, she naturally couldn't stand seeing Hermione so upset.
She seemed extremely angry—she had never been this upset, even when Malfoy called her a "Mudblood." Ron thought that if it had been anyone else standing there, Irina might have cast a Freezing Charm on him!
After chastising Ron, Irina didn't stay long but instead led Hermione away.
