Chapter 49 - If it weren't for that senior, Hermione and I would have died!

Lynn didn't say much. He looked in the direction from which the sounds were coming and seemed to sense something. He waved his wand and cast an Invisibility Charm.

He wasn't disturbed by the gruesome scene. This was because he had already witnessed something similar when Casiraghi had been shot in the head last Halloween. Seeing such a scene again naturally evoked some feelings, though not as strongly as before.

After casting the Disillusionment Charm, Lynn immediately left the scene.

Barely a few breaths after Lynn left, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed from a distance.

"Irina, Hermione, we're back, are you alright?"

Upon hearing that there was almost no movement here, Harry and Ron quickly rushed over.

When they saw the giant monster's exploded head, they froze in place, then immediately began vomiting alongside Irina.

Soon, Professor McGonagall, Professor Snape, and Quirrell arrived. Upon seeing the troll's exploded head, both Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape frowned in surprise.

Quirrell rolled his eyes and fainted again.

Professor McGonagall approached, gazed at Irina in disbelief, and asked, "Miss Lowell, did you do all this?"

Irina reluctantly lifted her head. Her beautiful face was now covered in dust. She shook her head and said, "No, Professor, an upperclassman came to help me just a moment ago."

Upon hearing this, Professor McGonagall furrowed her brow. She looked at the troll's scorched skin, the body pierced by unknown magic, and the vines on the ground transformed by Transfiguration spells. She understood that what Irina said was true.

This level of magical power and Transfiguration skill was certainly impossible for Irina and others.

But...

Looking at the somewhat familiar vines, Professor McGonagall thought for a moment.

With such powerful Transfiguration abilities, the person must be a member of her own Transfiguration club.

"Irina, can you tell me what this older student looked like? He came to your aid and took care of the troll. We should all thank him," Professor McGonagall said after a moment of contemplation.

Irina hesitated and said, "I only remember he was surrounded by many blocks of metal, wore a Slytherin robe, and had black hair with a bit of dark red at the tips…"

As she spoke, her eyes suddenly lit up.

"Oh, by the way, he was very handsome, extremely handsome!" Irina exclaimed.

Throughout both of her lifetimes, Irina had seen many handsome boys, but the black-haired one who saved her was one of the few who truly amazed her.

Of course, this was partly due to the heroic aura of a savior, but his natural appearance was impressive as well.

"Are you sure that student is from Slytherin?"

At that moment, Professor Snape slowly approached and asked in his deep voice.

As the Head of Slytherin House, he had never heard of such a powerful student in his house. If this was true, it would be a major failure on his part.

Professor McGonagall was lost in thought. Slytherin, black hair, extremely skilled in Transfiguration. There were not many students who matched this description. The only one she knew well was Lynn Rohr, but he was just a second-year student. Could a second-year student possess the magical power to defeat giant trolls?

Professor McGonagall shook her head, leaving the mysterious Slytherin student aside for now. The priority was to deal with the troll.

At that moment, Professor McGonagall seemed to think of something, her eyes filled with anger, and her lips went pale.

"Then, what the hell were you playing at? You're lucky you weren't killed. Why weren't you staying in the dormitory?" she demanded, furious, addressing the three students.

Irina looked at Hermione, who was unconscious. She carefully lifted her and gave half a bottle of the healing potion to both Hermione and herself, a potion Lynn had given her. Then, she turned to Professor McGonagall and explained, "Professor, Hermione and I were in the girls' bathroom, and we didn't know what was happening in the auditorium. We didn't realize until the troll appeared, and by then, it was too late."

Ron stepped forward and admitted his mistake. "Professor, this is all my fault. I said some mean things about Hermione earlier today, and she overheard it, which made her collapse and cry in the girls' bathroom."

Harry didn't want only Ron to take the blame, so he stood up and shared the responsibility. "Professor, I'm to blame too. I should have stopped Ron. After all, Hermione is our friend."

Professor McGonagall looked at the students before her, and the anger in her heart eased slightly. She said sternly, "Mr. Potter and Mr. Weasley, Gryffindor will lose 30 points for your mistakes!"

Harry and Ron immediately lowered their heads awkwardly but said nothing more. After all, it was their fault.

But soon, Professor McGonagall continued, her tone softening. "However, you didn't face the troll alone, but sought help from the professor, which earns Gryffindor 5 points. Additionally, Miss Lowell, you and Hermione will each earn 10 points for Gryffindor for your brave actions in preventing the troll from leaving the underground corridor and harming other students!"

In the end, Irina and Hermione earned 10 points each for Gryffindor, and Harry and Ron earned 5 points together. The four of them received a total of 25 points for Gryffindor.

But due to Harry and Ron's mistakes, Gryffindor lost 30 points, meaning that although they gained 25 points, the house's score dropped by 5 points.

At that moment, Professor Snape's deep voice sounded: "Although the identity of the student cannot be determined, because the student defeated the troll and saved his peers, Slytherin will earn 30 points!"

Professor McGonagall had no objections to this.

"I will inform Professor Dumbledore about this, and you may go," Professor McGonagall said.

Irina quickly took Hermione out of the filthy corridor and up the two flights of stairs, with Harry and Ron following closely behind.

"Irina, why did you tell Professor McGonagall that it was a Slytherin who defeated the troll? If you had said it was you, those 30 points would have gone to us, Gryffindor, not our rival Slytherin!" Ron complained, clearly disliking Slytherin.

Hearing this, Irina stopped.

She looked at Ron coldly and said, "If it weren't for that older student, Hermione and I would be dead."
